The lone NHL contest tonight features struggling squads as the Montreal Canadiens play host to the New Jersey Devils. With how the season is unfolding for both teams, the Devils or Habs will be grateful for a win tonight.

Earlier this week, we posted odds from the Canadiens/Bruins game. Boston would go on to defeat their rival and hand Montreal their 5th straight loss. The Devils lost their last contest and sit in the basement of the Metropolitan Division.

5Dimes LogoDespite losing their last five games, the Habs are only -2 when it comes to their goal differential. New Jersey might not want to look at their goal differential, as they are -23 on the season. If there is a reason to be optimistic for Montreal, it’s that they are still above .500 on the season.

Still, they were among the league leaders before this recent skid. If the Canadiens manage to lose tonight, it’s going to be salt in the wound for the Habs’ current streak.

New Jersey has struggled to score goals all season. With a roster like Taylor Hall, Kyle Palmieri, and Nico Hischier, the team is not scoring a ton of goals. Jack Hughes is off to a decent start, which is a good sign for the Devils moving forward.

The opposite is true for Montreal. They have no issue scoring but they have struggled to keep the puck out of the net. In their last contest against the Bruins, Montreal allowed 8 goals en route to a loss. When it rains it pours and the Canadiens need to stop the flooding soon before their season is ruined.
