Matchbook English Premier League

One of the easiest to understand bet types is “Match Odds” (also known as Money Line or Full Time Result). A Match Odds bet means you pick which team you think will either 1) win, 2) tie, 3) not win or 4) not tie. In our example above, we have the following six bet choices:
1 (Blue) – Home) Everton to win
1 (Red) – Home) Everton to not win ※ a Newcastle United win or a tie would equal a winning bet
2 (Blue) – Away) Newcastle United to win
2 (Red) – Away) Newcastle United to not win ※ an Everton win or a tie would equal a winning bet
X (Blue) – Everton to tie Newcastle United
X (Red) – Everton to not tie Newcastle United ※ an Everton win or a Newcastle United win would equal a winning bet

In this example we will pick Everton to not win, therefore we will click on the odds 1.645.

(4)Enter your bet amount

Matchbook Betslip

After clicking the odds that you would like a fellow bettor to place a bet on, your bet selection will show under Betslip on the right-hand side of the screen.

Once you enter in the stake for a fellow bettor (the amount of money that you would like a fellow bettor to bet) known, the amount of risk that you would be responsible for, known as liability, will be shown automatically in the “LIABILITY” text box ($0.65 in this case).

If you were to win your bet (in other words, the bettor would lose his/her bet), $1 would be your profit and a total of $1.65 would be returned to you. ※ Note that the $1.65 amount does not include Matchbook’s 1.0% commission that would be assessed on your $1 profit.

If you were to lose the bet (in other words the opposing bettor wins the bet), you would lose your liability ($0.65 in this example) to the opposing bettor. In addition, Matchbook will assess a 1.0% commission on your liability, thus $0.0065.

Once you are finished adjusting the odds and either the stake or your “LIABILITY”, click on the check mark followed by clicking on “PLACE ALL BETS” to submit your bet(s) to the exchange for a fellow bettor to view and accept.

Using the same example, if you were to adjust your “LIABILITY” from 0.65 to 1, the stake will be automatically calculated for you based on the odds indicated (note that you can change the odds as well).

If you were to win your bet (in other words, the bettor would lose his/her bet), $1.56 would be your profit and a total of $2.56 would be returned to you. ※ Note that the $2.56 amount does not include Matchbook’s 1.0% commission that would be assessed on your $1.56 profit.

If you were to lose the bet (in other words the opposing bettor wins the bet), you would lose your liability ($1 in this example) to the opposing bettor. In addition, Matchbook will assess a 1.0% commission on your liability, thus $0.01.

Once you are finished adjusting the odds and either the stake or your “LIABILITY”, click on the check mark followed by clicking on “PLACE ALL BETS” to submit your bet(s) to the exchange for a fellow bettor to view and accept.

Examples of other bet options

Correct Score
Matchbook Correct Score

A “Correct Score” bet means that you can place a bet on what you think will be the final score of the game.

Half Time/Full Time
Matchbook Half Time:Full Time

A “Half Time/Full Time” bet, also known as a “1st Half Result/2nd Half Result” bet, means that you can place a bet on what you think will be the correct outcome of the first half and also the final score. Using the Everton – Newcastle United example, if the score at half time is 0-1 and the final score is 2-1, you would need to bet on “Newcastle United/Everton” in order to win the bet.

Total Goals
Matchbook Total Goals

A “Total Goals” bet, also known as a “Goals Over/Under” bet, which is always set at “Over X.5″ and “Under X.5″, means that you place a bet on the total number of goals that you think will be scored in a game. “Over 2.5” means that 3 goals or more would be a winning bet while “Under 2.5” means that 2 goals or less would be a winning bet.
