After entering your Email and Password, click “SIGN IN” to continue.

(2)Select the game/match that you would like to bet on

Smarkets Premier League

In this example, we will show you how to place a bet on an English Premier League soccer game. First, click on “FOOTBALL” from the list of sports on the left-hand side of the screen. Next, click “TODAY” followed by “UK” and then select the Premier League game that you would like to bet on. If there are not any Premier League games held today, select “TOMORROW” or “UK” for step #2 instead of “TODAY” and search again for a Premier League that you would like to bet on.

(3)Select your bet type

Smarkets Match Odds

One of the easiest to understand bet types is “Match Odds” (also known as Money Line or Full Time Result). A Match Odds bet means you pick which team you think will either 1) win, 2) tie, 3) not win or 4) not tie. In our example above, we have the following six bet choices:
1 (Green) – Home) Manchester United to win
1 (Red) – Home) Manchester United to not win ※ a Swansea win or a tie would equal a winning bet
X (Green) – Manchester United to tie Swansea
X (Red) – Manchester United to not tie Swansea ※ a Manchester United win or a Swansea win would equal a winning bet
2 (Green) – Away) Swansea to win
2 (Red) – Away) Swansea to not win ※ a Manchester United win or a tie would equal a winning bet

In this example we will pick Manchester United to not win, therefore we can click on the odds 1.37, 1.38 or 1.42.

Smarkets Game Time

※ Note the date and time of the match located above the odds on the left-hand side. By default the date and time are displayed as GMT. The time zone display setting cannot be changed.

(4)Enter your bet amount

Smarkets Bet Slip

After clicking the odds that you would like to place a bet on, your bet selection will show under the odds.

Once you enter in the “BACK STAKE” for a fellow bettor (the amount of money that you would like a fellow bettor to bet) and the “PRICE” (odds) , the amount of risk that you would be responsible for, known as liability, will be shown automatically next to “Liability” (¥3.70 in this case).

If you were to win your bet (in other words, the opposing bettor would lose his/her bet), ¥10 would be your profit and a total of ¥13.70 would be returned to you (known as “Return”). ※ Note that the ¥13.70 amount does not include Smarket’s 2.0% commission that would be assessed on your ¥10 profit.

If you were to lose the bet (in other words the opposing bettor wins the bet), you would lose your liability (¥3.70 in this example) to the opposing bettor. ※ Note that Smarkets does not assess a commission on losing bets.

Once you are finished adjusting the “BACK STAKE” and “PRICE”, click the green “PLACE BET” button to submit your bet(s) to the exchange for a fellow bettor to view and accept.

Using a similar example, if you were to adjust the “BACK STAKE” for a fellow bettor (the amount of money that you would like a fellow bettor to bet) and the “PRICE” (odds), you will notice that the amount of “Return” and “Liability” will be re-calculated automatically.

Once you are finished adjusting the “BACK STAKE” and “PRICE”, click the green “PLACE BET” button to submit your bet(s) to the exchange for a fellow bettor to view and accept.
