Djokovic Chasing History at Upcoming French Open

May 14, 2019

Rafael Nadal

The next grand slam on the ATP Tour will be the French Open. The worlds best will enter Paris in hopes of capturing a championship on the clay surface.

Focusing on the men’s singles competition, Rafael Nadal is searching for his third straight French Open victory. The Spaniard is absolutely dominant on clay, capturing the most French Open titles in the history of the Open Era with 11. His dominance at the French Open is something practically unmatched by any other athlete in their respective sport.

2019 French Open Men Odds※ Current Odds Date & Time: May 13th, 11:00 a.m. (EST)

Online bookmaker Top Bet has Nadal +120 for the French Open.

Novak Djokovic

Of course, Nadal will have some fierce competition when it comes to the French Open.

Top Bet LogoNovak Djokovic is looking to make history in Paris. Djokovic has the chance to capture four straight Grand Slam victories with a win. If he can achieve this, it would be the second time Djokovic would secure this feat. With that being said, the French Open hasn’t exactly been that nice to him. Of all his grand slam victories, only one has come in the French Open.

However, it was the French Open that allowed Djokovic to become the first man since 1969 to hold all four Grand Slam titles. Can lightning strike twice?

Dominic Thiem

25 year-old Dominic Thiem is the next big thing in professional tennis but is still searching for his first Grand Slam title. Overall, the French Open has been great to the Austrian. He has two semi-finals appearances and in 2018 he reached the finals of the tournament before running into Rafael Nadal.

Will it be one of the top three players in the world taking the title home in Paris, or will an underdog swoop in and capture the French Open?

Can Woods Make It Two in a Row? Bethpage Black Awaits All!

May 06, 2019

Tiger Woods

After completing a historic run at the Masters, Tiger Woods now has his eyes on the prize at the upcoming PGA Championship.

Set to take place in Farmingdale, New York at Bethpage Black Course, the PGA Championship has gone to an American three straight years. Woods is in search of his 5th PGA Championship and first since 2007. If he were to win the Championship, Woods would tie Walter Hagen and Jack Nicklaus for most in history.

PGA Championship Odds※ Current Odds Date & Time: May 5th, 2019

Online bookmaker Top Bet has Woods +550 to win the PGA Championship.

Bethpage Black Course

Top Bet LogoBethpage Black isn’t a course for the weak. Equipped with two par 5’s and one par 6, it provides an opportunity for birdies, but your approach must be calculated. Holes are guarded by deep bunkers, winding greens and the challenging landscape will chew up even the best at the game.

Woods knows all about Bethpage Black. He won the US Open in 2002 at this very course, shooting a -3. Can lightning strike twice 17 years later?

Brooks Koepka has been a contender in major championships since 2016. In 2018, he picked up a US Open victory and PGA Championship. 2017 saw Brooks finish inside the top 10 at the British Open and also a victory at the US Open.

Jordan Spieth

Jordan Spieth has seemingly done it all in professional golf. With three major championships under his belt, the last on his list is the PGA Championship. Is this the year he captures the Grand Slam?

In search of his first major championship is Rickie Fowler. The former number one ranked golfer has racked up the victories over his career but has not picked up any majors – yet. Since the 2017 Masters, he has missed no cuts and has four top 10s.

Nations Collide In Upcoming IIHF World Championship

April 30, 2019

Canada

The Stanley Cup playoffs are in full swing, but fans of international hockey are looking forward to the upcoming IIHF World Championship.

The 2019 edition of the World Championship will take place in Slovakia. In Group A, number one ranked Canada will be in a group with the U.S., Finland, Germany, Slovakia, Denmark, France, and Great Britain.

IIHF World Championship Odds※ Current Odds Date & Time: April 28, 10:00 p.m. (EST)

Online bookmaker Top Bet has Canada listed at +200 even though their full roster is not complete.

In Group B, you can see number two ranked Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Norway, Latvia, Austria, and Italy.

What makes this tournament unpredictable is that the rosters aren’t set until days before the tournament. Many countries are still hoping to fill in spots, depending on the outcome for the NHL playoffs.

Teams like Russia have the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Kuznetsov, Dmitry Orlov, Nikita Zaitsev and Evgeni Dadonov joining their roster with time winding down until the opening puck drop.

Top Bet LogoMeanwhile, teams like Finland will not be with some of their stars because their professional organization declined the invitation to have their respective player compete at the international level. One such example being Aleksander Barkov will not compete for Finland in this tournament.

Team USA

As for Canada, they are still naming athletes to their roster. We know that John Tavares and Mark Stone will play for Canada. In the net, they will have some young goalies. Mackenzie Blackwood (23), Carter Hart (21) and Matt Murray (25) are slated to be in goal.

USA and Sweden are also icing some fantastic rosters for this tournament. It’s rare to see many teams provide such terrifying rosters, but Russia, USA and Sweden are leading the charge. Canada can also ice a solid team, but it all depends on which players accept the roster invites.

Looking at the rosters, it’s going to be tough for even the likes of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, and Switzerland to medal. And other teams like France, Great Britain, Italy, Latvia, and Norway will need to climb Mount Everest in order to step on the podium.

Team Russia

Barca & Liverpool Clash in Champions League Semis!

April 22, 2019

Messi

A semi-final win separates Barcelona and Liverpool from the Champions League final. The two clubs will kick-off their two-game set at the end of April.

Top Bet LogoThe winner will go on to face either Ajax or Tottenham in the Champions League final. Barcelona flexed their muscles in the quarter-finals against Manchester United. They didn’t concede a goal and won both games, 1-0 and 3-0.

Liverpool vs. Barcelona Odds※ Current Odds Date & Time: April 21st, 11:30 a.m. (EST)

Online bookmaker Top Bet has Barcelona at -141 on the money line.

Salah

Liverpool last lost a Champions League contest during the group stage against PSG. Since then, they battled to victory or draws. Liverpool was able to put up six goals in total against Porto, allowing just one in the quarter-finals.

These two clubs have faced off against each other eight times in total. Three of the victories have gone to Liverpool and two of the wins went to Barcelona. Three games resulted in a draw as well.

Their last Champions League contest was in 2007 and their earliest meeting was in 1976. It should be a compelling contest between two historic clubs.

This has been a solid Champions League run for Barcelona already. Reaching the semi-finals broke the quarter-finals elimination streak that Barcelona was in from their past three Champions League appearances.

Philippe Coutinho

As for Liverpool, they were defeated in the finals last season against Real Madrid. Liverpool’s last win came in 2005.

Barcelona will look to keep an impressive streak going. The past five Champions League finals have featured at least one team from Spain. Can Barcelona keep that streak going?

England had a similar streak of clubs represented in the middle to late 2000s with five teams represented as well.

Can Barcelona reach the Champions League final for the first time since 2015 (when they won), or will Liverpool reach the finals for the second straight year?

Will Kyler Murray Go First Overall in the NFL Draft?

April 16, 2019

NFL Draft

The NFL draft can change the outlook of a franchise with one selection. A number one draft pick is a huge deal in the NFL and there is no shortage of talented prospects in this year’s draft.

The Arizona Cardinals will select first in the upcoming draft if they do not trade the pick prior to the selection. Last season, the Cardinals finished with a 3-13 record and were dead last in the NFC West and NFL.

2019 NFL Draft 1st Pick Odds※ Current Odds Date & Time: April 14th, 10:30 p.m. (EST)

Online bookmaker SportsBetting has Kyler Murray listed at -400 for the 2019 1st overall pick.

Kyle Murray

Kyler Murray, Nick Bosa, Quinnen Williams, and Josh Allen are the four listed athletes by Sportsbetting for the potential first overall pick.

SportsBetting LogoKyler Murray is the favorite entering the draft, but are the Cardinals searching for another QB? Currently, Arizona has Josh Rosen in the pocket, so Murray may not be the best option. Murray was indecisive about his football career after being selected in the MLB Draft. Ultimately, Murray would decide football was a better suitor for him.

With that being said, the consensus is that Murray will be the number one selection ever since his showing at the combine. Will the Cardinals roll with Murray in the draft? If so, what happens to Rosen?

Nick Bosa

The Cardinals need help on defense, so it wouldn’t be a shock to see Nick Bosa be selected in the first overall spot. Bosa has 47 solo tackles during his college career and racked up 17.5 sacks over three seasons with Ohio State.

Quinnen Williams should be given consideration at potentially being selected first overall. The defensive linemen out of Alabama had 19.5 tackles for losses last season, including 8 sacks.

Former Kentucky Wildcat Josh Allen is explosive as well, although he seems to be a longshot to be selected first overall. While Williams and Bosa have the best chance at number one, Allen seems to be a top four to five pick.
