Best Football Predictions This Week

The last few matches in Euro 2024 and Copa America 2024 will take place over the next few days. Let’s find out what betting opportunities lie in these matches.

Spain to Win Euro 2024 @ 1.61

Spain came from behind on Tuesday evening to reach their first European Championship final in 12 years with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over France in Munich.

France couldn’t have scripted a better start to their fourth semi-final in five major tournaments. A free-from-the-mask Kylian Mbappé set up Randal Kolo Muani for a headed goal at the far post. However, just as Les Bleus seemed to be in control, Spain’s Yamal unleashed a thunderous long-range strike to become the youngest scorer in European Championship history.

The momentum had swung firmly in Spain’s favour. Dani Olmo, who had come on for the injured Pedri, orchestrated a brilliant move, creating space for himself before firing a shot that deflected in off Jules Koundé.

France huffed and puffed for an equaliser, with Mbappé sending a late effort over the bar. But Spain held firm, defending resolutely to secure their place in Sunday’s final in Berlin.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Spain have enjoyed a perfect run, winning all six matches so far. No team in European Championship history has ever achieved this feat – winning six games in a single tournament, let alone securing six consecutive victories.

Much praise has been heaped upon manager Luis de la Fuente. Since taking over from Luis Enrique, he has implemented a tactical shift that’s paying dividends. Fuente’s Spain are often dominant but know when to hit the brakes and concede possession to boost their chances.

While not a lot of people fancied La Roja to be a solid contender in this competition ahead of the likes of France and Germany, they now stand as the best team remaining in the competition. Spain will play either England or Netherlands in the final. None of them have appeared as convincing as de la Fuente’s men on the pitch.

Bookmaker William Hill has Spain at 1.61 in the Euro 2024 outright market, which looks like an attractive proposition.

Colombia to Beat Uruguay @ 2.80

South American glory awaits the winner as Uruguay and Colombia lock horns in a mouthwatering Copa America semi-final at the Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina on Wednesday. Marcelo Bielsa’s charges edged past Brazil on penalties after a tense encounter, while Colombia emphatically dispatched Panama 5-0 in the quarter-finals.

La Celeste haven’t graced the Copa America final since their 2011 triumph, having been knocked out in the quarter-finals three times in the past four tournaments. However, they’re on a five-match winning streak and boast a watertight defence, conceding only once in that run.

A trip to Florida for the final is a realistic target for Bielsa’s men, but they’ll need to shore up any recent defensive frailties to keep their dream alive.

Colombia, meanwhile, are riding a juggernaut 27-game unbeaten run across all competitions. Their last defeat came in a World Cup qualifier against Argentina back in February 2022. Victory on Wednesday would see them set a new national record for their longest unbeaten streak.

While their 10-game winning run was halted by a 1-1 draw with Brazil in the group stages, this minor blip hardly dents their impressive form. Colombia have reached the semi-finals in three of the last four Copa Americas, proving their consistency on the big stage.

Colombia haven’t reached the Copa America final since their only win in 2001, despite claiming bronze medals in both 2016 and 2021. Their recent meetings with Uruguay have been tight affairs, ending in two draws. However, they have a knack for penalties, having edged past La Celeste on spot-kicks in the Copa quarter-finals three years ago.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Uruguay’s defence has been a fortress throughout the Copa America and the build-up to the tournament. However, injuries to Araujo and a suspension for Nandez necessitated a defensive reshuffle, which could prove risky against a seemingly unstoppable Colombia.

Bielsa’s men are known for their fighting spirit and will undoubtedly give Colombia a tough test. But it’s difficult to imagine a scenario where Colombia, spearheaded by the in-form Rodriguez and inspired by coach Lozano, don’t progress to a mouthwatering final against either Argentina or Canada. This likely leaves Uruguay facing a battle for the bronze medal.

Bookmaker William Hill has both Uruguay and Colombia priced at 2.80 to win. We fancy Colombia’s chances in this one.

Colombia to Win Copa America @ 4.50

Colombia will face Argentina at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on Sunday evening, should they manage to beat Uruguay in the semi-finals. Based on what we have seen from Nestor Lorenzo’s team so far, we are confident that they can go all the way.

Colombia ran riot in their Copa America quarter-final, putting five past Panama without reply. James Rodriguez, Jhon Cordoba, Luis Diaz, Richard Rios and Miguel Borja all got on the scoresheet in Arizona, as the yellow shirts set a new national record for their biggest ever Copa America win.

They were equally ruthless in the group stages. After cruising through their opening two group-stage fixtures against Paraguay and Costa Rica with a combined score of 5-1, Colombia needed at least a draw against five-time world champions Brazil to hold on to the top spot of the group.

A cagey first half saw Brazil take the lead through a superb Raphinha free-kick in the 12th minute. But Los Cafeteros battled back and secured a point thanks to a Daniel Munoz strike.

This result means Nestor Lorenzo has maintained his impressive unbeaten record as Colombia manager, winning 17 and drawing six of his 23 matches in all competitions since taking charge in July 2022.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Bookmaker William Hill has Argentina installed as the favourites to retain their Copa America crown. La Albiceleste are priced at 1.80 to win consecutive titles and claim a record-breaking 16th Copa America trophy.

Colombia are priced at 4.50 with William Hill to win the Copa America, making them the third favourites behind Argentina and Uruguay. Only surprise package Canada are behind them at this moment.

Argentina did not appear to be at their best in the tournament, and if they do come across Colombia in the final, our money will be on Nestor Lorenzo guiding the 2001 champions to a historic win against his own country.

Best Golf Predictions This Week

Golf fans can look forward to enjoying a thrilling week on the fairways. Here are the hottest golf betting picks for the next seven days:

Brooke Henderson Winning the Evian Championship 2024 @ 23.00

Brooke Henderson has been on fire at the Evian the past two years, claiming the title in 2022 and finishing runner-up in 2023. The Canadian star is in scintillating form, averaging a sizzling 67.88 over her last eight rounds on the Evian Resort Course.

While Henderson has racked up six top-10 finishes this season, her form dipped slightly in early summer, with a tie for third at the Chevron Championship back in April being her best result. That said, it’s impossible to ignore her fantastic record in this beautiful course.

It took Henderson six attempts to find her footing at the Evian. After a series of finishes between tied 25th and tied 58th in her first six appearances, she finally broke through with a dominant victory in 2022. The 26-year-old then cemented her love for the course with a runner-up finish a year later.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Unsurprisingly, world No. 1 Nelly Korda sits atop the leaderboard for betting odds. However, her recent form raises some concerns. After missing three consecutive cuts and taking a short break, we’re not brimming with confidence in her chances this week.

Hot on Korda’s heels in the odds list is Atthaya Thitikul. The young Thai star is fresh off a victory alongside Ruoning Yin and has been in scintillating form, racking up five top-eight finishes in her last six starts. However, a solo win has eluded her since 2022, which means we’re reserving judgement on her ability to challenge for the title this week.

Brooke Henderson is one of just nine players in the Evian field boasting a winner’s trophy from this prestigious tournament. Her back-to-back finals appearances here and solid form throughout 2024 make her a contender to watch. Plus, the enticing 23.00 odds offered by William Hill add further incentive for us to root for a Henderson win.

Sergio Garcia to Win LIV Golf Invitational Andalusia 2024 @ 15.00

LIV Golf returns to sunny Spain this week for a repeat of their only Spanish tournament. Last year, Talor Gooch tamed the prestigious Real Club Valderrama course to claim the cool $4 million top prize.

This venue boasts a rich history, having previously graced both the PGA Tour and DP World Tour calendars. It also holds the distinction of hosting the first-ever Ryder Cup on continental Europe back in 1997.

Meanwhile, LIV Golf Andalucia presents a homecoming for Spanish star Sergio Garcia. Speaking to reporters at West Lancs on Tuesday, Garcia expressed his excitement to compete on familiar soil after missing out on the Open Championship.

Sergio Garcia’s bid to qualify for the Open Championship fell two strokes short last week. A video emerged showing him venting his frustration to R&A officials after being placed on a slow-play clock.  However, he can look forward to a return to familiar hunting grounds at Valderrama.

Despite the heartbreak of missing out on the Open by a narrow two strokes, the 44-year-old Garcia is in scintillating form. He boasts a remarkable record at Valderrama, having secured 14 top-ten finishes in 15 professional appearances there. This includes a staggering three victories at the DP World Tour’s Andalucia Masters.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Bryson DeChambeau’s quest for his first LIV win of the season continues at Valderrama this weekend. Despite not yet reaching the winner’s circle, bookmaker William Hill still has ‘The Scientist’ as the frontrunner for the tournament. His strong showing with a third-place finish in Nashville has him at the head of the leaderboard for LIV Golf Andalucia.

We, however, believe there is better value to be had at backing Sergio Garcia, who has thrived in this course in the past.

Tommy Fleetwood to Win 2024 Scottish Open @ 19.00

The PGA Tour sets sail for Scottish shores this week, with the 2024 Scottish Open taking place at the familiar surrounds of The Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

This marks the sixth consecutive year the tournament graces this Tom Doak masterpiece, a challenging par-70 that stretches just over 7,200 yards. It’s also the third year running that the event enjoys co-sanctioning from both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

While some jokingly suggest Tommy Fleetwood is “cursed” on American soil due to his lack of a PGA Tour win, he’s enjoyed a stellar career in Europe. A seven-time champion on the DP World Tour, Fleetwood remains a world-class golfer. The Englishman will look to further solidify that claim by taking home the Scottish Open trophy.

Fleetwood emerges as the frontrunner for this tournament, thanks to his stellar season-long form and impressive history at this course. He’s no stranger to success here, having secured a trio of top-six finishes, including a runner-up spot in a 2020 playoff.

His accuracy off the tee is a major asset, particularly on a links course like this. Furthermore, Fleetwood ranks eighth in this field for scrambling over the past 36 rounds and sits comfortably at 13th for par-4s between 450-500 yards. Additionally, his past performances at the Honda Classic, with a third and a fourth-place finish, showcase his ability to contend on similar layouts.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Rory McIlroy, the defending champion, returns to action at the Scottish Open this week after a self-imposed hiatus following his heartbreaking U.S. Open defeat. McIlroy missed two short putts on the final three holes at Brookline, handing victory to Bryson DeChambeau by a single stroke.

While bookmaker William Hill labels ‘Rors’ as the likeliest candidate to win the title, we believe he might be distracted following his dramatic U.S. Open collapse. Tom Fleetwood, therefore, appears to be a safer and more rewarding punt here.

Best Darts Prediction This Week

One of the biggest darts events is set to begin on July 13th as the World Matchplay Darts returns for its 30th edition. Here is our pick for the competition:

Luke Littler to Win @ 4.50

Bursting onto the professional scene as an unknown entity, Luke Littler defied all expectations by storming to the World Championship final in 2024.

This wasn’t a one-off wonder, though. Littler went on to conquer the prestigious Premier League in his debut year, a feat that cemented his place amongst the elite of professional darts. The world now watches with bated breath for the next chapter in his story, and our predictions for the PDC 2024 World Matchplay suggest it’s going to be another successful title charge.

Littler has enjoyed a phenomenal year so far. Victories in the Bahrain Darts Masters, Poland Dart Masters, and the prestigious Premier League have cemented his status as a rising star.

He also narrowly missed out on glory at the World Darts Championship and Dutch Darts Masters, showcasing his ability to compete with the very best. Now, all eyes are on Littler as he aims to add another astonishing achievement to his name – a maiden World Matchplay title.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Littler slightly trails his namesake, Luke Humphries, in the pre-tournament odds, according to bookmaker William Hill. Humphries is at 4.00 to follow up his successful World Cup campaign with England with a World Matchplay victory. Littler, meanwhile, is at 4.50 to become the champion.

“The Nuke” will be facing a daunting first round challenge as he takes on Michael van Gerwen. Only 16-time champion Phil Taylor can better van Gerwen’s record in the competition, but the Dutchman has lost in all of his past four meetings with Littler. We see the Warrington boy picking up another win against the veteran player and capitalise on this early momentum to win the trophy.

Best Rugby League Predictions This Week

This week in rugby league promises some real nail-biters, with key clashes happening in both the Super League and the National Rugby League. Our resident experts have been crunching the numbers, and here are their top picks for the upcoming matches:

Rhinos to Cover +14 Spread Against the Wolves @ 1.91

The fight for Super League’s coveted play-off spots continues this Thursday as Warrington and Leeds clash at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Both sides are among the seven clubs locked in a tense battle for a shot at the Grand Final, making this a crucial encounter.

Shaking off a three-match losing streak, Warrington found redemption with back-to-back victories over Hull and Huddersfield. This comes after a string of defeats, including two to local rivals Wigan, one of which was a heartbreaking Challenge Cup final loss.

Their emphatic 48-0 victory over the Giants propelled them into third place in the table. Meanwhile, the Rhinos find themselves languishing in seventh, just two points adrift of the coveted top six and seemingly the final team with a realistic shot at the play-offs.

Despite the upheaval caused by coach Rohan Smith’s departure, the Rhinos have shown resilience under interim boss Chev Walker. They’ve secured back-to-back victories, proving their fight isn’t over as the search for a permanent replacement continues.

While their recent victories over Leigh and London Broncos haven’t been the most dominant displays, the grit Leeds has shown suggests they could push Warrington further than expected on Thursday. After all, the Wolves are currently battling injury woes in their wingers.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Warrington are heavy favourites for this clash, but the Rhinos’ recent fightback suggests they could keep things closer than expected. With that in mind, we’re taking a punt on Leeds Rhinos +14 spread at bookmaker William Hill‘s odds of 1.91.

Rabbitohs to Beat Dolphins @ 2.30

Despite clinging onto a top-eight spot, the Dolphins are desperate to arrest their recent slump. They’ll be looking to avoid a hat-trick of losses when they welcome the red-hot Rabbitohs to Kayo Stadium.

The Dolphins head into this crucial round 19 opener well-rested after their bye week. However, they face a stern test in the form of the Rabbitohs, who are buzzing with confidence after reeling off five consecutive wins. The Bunnies are a team on a mission and will be looking to extend their winning streak beyond enemy lines.

The Rabbitohs have emerged as one of the competition’s hottest teams, putting together a series of wins to climb to 13th on the ladder. Their impressive run has seen them conquer the Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos, Manly Sea Eagles, and the Parramatta Eels. Can they add the Dolphins to that list?

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Despite their recent hot streak, the Rabbitohs are still the underdogs for this clash, which could present some value for punters. Interestingly, Ben Hornby’s men secured a convincing 22-point victory over the Dolphins in this very fixture last season, capitalising on another second-half Dolphins meltdown.

With the Rabbitohs on a tear, bookmaker William Hill’s odds of 2.30 for a South Sydney victory look particularly attractive. This could be a great chance to back the in-form Bunnies at a decent price.

Titans to Win By 13+ Against Eels @ 2.25

The Gold Coast Titans are gunning for a hat-trick of victories as they return to Cbus Super Stadium to take on the Parramatta Eels.

Des Hasler’s men seem to have hit their straps in recent weeks. A dominant win against the Warriors was followed by a nail-biting victory over the Sharks in Coffs Harbour on Friday. They now head back to the Gold Coast for a clash with the Parramatta Eels, who will be missing key halfback Mitchell Moses due to his NSW representative duties.

The Eels have suffered a string of bad results lately, which have plunged them to 16th position. They’ve slumped to four straight defeats, but there have been flashes of promise in recent outings.

Both clashes between these two sides last season were genuine thrillers, with the home team emerging victorious on each occasion. The Eels scraped through by a single point in their last encounter, while the Titans secured a narrow two-point win earlier in the 2023 campaign.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 10th, 12:00 AM (GMT)

Given the contradictory forms of these two teams, however, it seems unlikely that we will get to see another nail-biter. The Titans thrashed the Warriors in true titanic fashion and picked up a crucial win against the Sharks. It seems destined that another hammering awaits for the Eels this weekend.

So, we fancy the Gold Coast to cover a 13-point plus winning margin. Bookmaker William Hill has them at attractive odds of 2.25 for this bet.
