The Milwaukee Brewers were handed a devastating blow when Christian Yelich suffered a fractured right kneecap. Expected to miss the next eight to 10 weeks, his season is done.
But that didn’t stop the Brewers from going on a run. Milwaukee started picking up the Ws, while the Chicago Cubs started taking Ls. Entering the final weekend of the season, the Brewers are one game back of the St. Louis Cardinals for the NL Central.
Online bookmaker BetOnline has the Brewers at -250 to win this three-game series.
The Brewers have already punched their ticket into the postseason, so now they need a rival to help them win the Central Division title. The Chicago Cubs, the team the Brewers chased for months has to win their series against the Cardinals.
It’s a weekend where enemies become friends and should make for an exciting weekend of baseball.
The Brewers are ready to rumble this weekend. Already naming their three starters for the final series, we still await who will get the start for Saturday and Sunday for Colorado.
Zach Davies will be on the bump for the visiting Brewers. On the mound for Colorado will be Antonio Senzatela. Chi Chi Gonzalez and Jeff Hoffman are the two other scheduled starters for Milwaukee.
Entering this final weekend, the Brew Crew are 2-2 against the Rockies this season. The last time these teams met, the two squads faced off one another at the end of April into the beginning of May. Milwaukee would open the four-game series at home winning two straight, before losing the last two games of the series.
Milwaukee will be awaiting the results of the Cardinals’ games, but they need to worry about their own business before focusing on another team.
Can the Brewers overtake the Cardinals in the final weekend of the season to clinch their second straight division title?
