Dota 2: Bali Major 2023 | Can the Gaimin Gladiators Make It Three From Three?

Dota 2: Bali Major 2023

The final major of the year is just around the corner for Dota 2 fans, and the stage has been set perfectly. History has already been made with the tournament heading to Bali, Indonesia for the first time, but one team will have their eye on another slice of history.

With no team winning three consecutive majors in Dota 2 history, the Gaimin Gladiators have an opportunity to do what no side has done before. Having won Lima and Berlin already in 2023, the European side is looking for a clean sweep of the majors here in Bali. They’ll have plenty of competition, however, as Tundra Esports and Team Liquid will both be eager to prevent another Gladiators win.

With $500,000 in the prize pool and plenty of points up for grab ahead of The International 2023, expect this to be a hotly contested event. We see two great bets heading into the week’s action—the Gaimin Gladiators to win and Team Liquid to make the final.

Oddly enough, this would be the third consecutive major that these two sides have played the final match. However, this is for good reason. With dyrachyo and Quinn at the fore for the Gladiators, they’ve been exceptional in 2023. They may have recently lost in the DPC WEU 2023 Tour 3: Division I, but there’s a good chance this will work in their favour. Rather than turning up undefeated and complacent, they’ve had a wake up call and won’t be lacking in motivation at the Bali Major 2023.

For Team Liquid, they’ve twice finished runner-up in the past two majors. Add in their victories in the first two DPC WEU events, as well as DreamLeague Season 19, and they’re one of the form teams in 2023. While we don’t think they’ll be able to get past the Gaimin Gladiators, they’re our pick to yet again make the final.
