The stage is set for yet another dramatic season of the UEFA Champions League, the world’s premiere club competition that always leaves football fans salivating by pitting the game’s biggest talents against one another and this time, it’s no different. 32 teams begin the competition but only one will have its name etched in the history books for the coming generations to see. The excitement simply cannot be contained and football fanatics have already started speculating as to which team will earn the right to hold aloft Ol’ Big Ears at the San Siro on the night of the 28th of May, 2016.

Barcelona are of course the reigning champions and it’s not surprising to see them being tipped to retain their title. The Spanish tactician has an outstanding record in Europe and it would not be surprising if he led his boyhood club to an 11th European Cup triumph.

Chelsea
Jose Mourinho’s legions have had to endure a torrid start to the new Barclays Premier League season. Manchester City
Manchester City head into this edition of the Champions League as England’s most feared club. Europe has been a disappointment for City ever since they made it big, but they look better placed than ever before to set the record books straight.

Manchester United
Barclays Premier League giants Manchester United are back in the Champions League after one year out. Louis Van Gaal has not been able to scale the heights of the United of old, but he has most certainly been able to bring in some stability. The Red Devils are another team who find themselves on this list thanks to their pedigree but at the same time it is very hard to imagine them lifting the Champions League trophy once all is said and done against some of the other teams in the competition this year.

Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid is one club that has made massive progress in recent seasons.
