While many of the best Counter-Strike teams in the world are busy competing at the Roobet Cup 2023, others have opted not to enter that event, instead contesting the Thunderpick World Championship 2023. With $500,000 on the line over the next week, as well as more experience at the highest level in the CS2 format, who will come out on top next weekend?
Despite the competing tournaments running alongside each other in CS2, there are some big names showing up for the Thunderpick World Championship 2023. FaZe Clan will be eager to maintain the momentum they grabbed by winning the IEM Sydney recently, while the likes of MOUZ, Team Spirit and Cloud9 will be looking to stop them and get their own success.
We break down the latest odds from bookmaker bet365 ahead of this event and outline all the best bets to make on CS2 this weekend.

Looking at the outright betting odds for the Thunderpick World Championship 2023, it’s no surprise that bookmaker bet365 has FaZe Clan as their betting favourite. The American team pays just 4.00 to win this tournament, well ahead of their closest rivals MOUZ, who come in at 5.50. Behind these two, Team Spirit and Cloud9 are both locked on 7.00, before Heroic and Virtus.Pro round out the top betting options at 8.00.
Odds to reach the final follow the same trend, with FaZe Clan leading at 2.00 through to Heroic and Virtus.Pro at 4.00.

Given how new CS2 is on the professional scene, making betting picks for the Thunderpick World Championship 2023 is no easy feat. Based on how the different teams have adapted to the format so far, we say the bookies are right in backing FaZe Clan as the most likely side to win this tournament. At the IEM Sydney, they were brilliant and looked like the dominant team of old. It’s tough to see the other teams gaining ground in time.
If there is one outfit that could upset FaZe Clan, we would recommend making a dark horse bet on Monte. It’s a long shot and there’s a reason they’re paying 15.00 to win. However, their quarter-finals finish in Sydney was solid, as was their semi-finals run in the recent ESL Pro League Season 18. They appear to have adapted well to CS2 and have maintained a high volume of matches, with mixed results. Backing them to make the final here at 7.50 has a healthy return and isn’t entirely inconceivable either.
