UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill | Light Heavyweight Belt on the Line in Rio

Mixed martial arts heads to Brazil this weekend with the UFC 283: Teixeira vs. Hill taking place on Saturday night in Rio de Janeiro. Headlined by an exciting light heavyweight clash title fight between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal Hill, the event is expected to be another sell out with big crowds turning out to support their local favourite.

In what will be a classic match-up between an up-and-coming, in-form fighter, and a seasoned veteran, this headline fight will also showcase two contrasting styles. Teixeira will be eager to fight this one on the mat, while Hill will be searching for a stand-up knockout from his striking game.

ウィリアムヒルBookmaker William Hill has all the odds for this clash as we see which of the two styles will prevail on Saturday night.

Looking at the outright winner odds for this bout, we can see that bookies have the two fighters neck and neck. Hill holds the slight advantage with odds of 1.73 against Teixeira’s 2.10. At one stage earlier in the week the odds were closer at 1.80 vs. 2.10, illustrating just how close this fight is expected to be.

Jamahal Hill heads into this fight looking like one of the organization’s top prospects. The 31-year-old has won his past three fights in the UFC and has only lost once, a gritty performance against Paul Craig in 2021 where he suffered an arm injury. Outside of that, he’s been flawless accruing his 11-1-0 record as a professional.

Glover Teixeira, on the other hand, landed one of the biggest wins in his career defeating Jan Blachowicz at UFC 267 in 2021. This earned the 43-year-old Brazilian a title fight against Jiri Prochazka, which he lost by submission in the dying moments of the fifth round. That was six months ago and now Teixeira is stepping back into the ring for his next fight and another attempt at the title.

We say Hill is going to win this one. For a slightly higher return, however, specifically pick Hill to win by knockout or submission. Of these two, knockout is far more likely. Hill has ruthlessly knocked out his last three opponents and another four before that across his eleven wins. The 31-year-old has vicious power and an excellent striking game that has seen him race to a title fight after only 12 professional fights.

UFC 283 will deliver a total of 15 fights total, so be sure to tune in and place your bets ahead of Saturday night.
