Reaching the round of 16, Atletico Madrid finished second in Group A with a record of 4-1-1. They scored 9 goals and conceded 6. Atletico’s only loss of the group stage was against Borussia Dortmund, the eventual top team of Group A. WIth that being said, Atletico Madrid handed Borussia Dortmund their only loss of the group stage as well.
