The NHL is returning with a 24-team playoff. Agree or disagree with their playoff structure, this is the format the NHL will be using for this season.

24-teams is an interesting format, as 8 teams that would normally not qualify for the postseason now have their chance at winning the Stanley Cup this season. But like any other sport, some teams are cut from a different cloth and that is easily seen with the odds to win the Stanley Cup.
