Right behind them are the Dallas Stars. Led by players like Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn, the Stars are expected to make a deep run in the playoffs. Dallas has been a team that has high expectations every season but have not made it to the Western Conference finals since 2008.

Colorado has the second-highest point total in the Western Conference, but are listed at +700 to win the West. Colorado is another team that has studs on their roster. Could this be the season they make a true impact in the playoffs?

We can’t leave out the defending Stanley Cup champion St. Louis Blues. The Blues are the perfect example of a Cinderella story. St. Louis is listed at +900 and arguably have a better team than last season. Can they get hot at the right time and keep the Cup in their arms?

After the Edmonton Oilers (+1100), we see a huge drop off in odds. The Calgary Flames, Nashville Predators, Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks are all listed at +2000. Arizona and Minnesota share the same +2200 odds, while the Chicago Blackhawks own the worst odds to win the Western Conference at +4700.

The best team on paper doesn’t always win. This season has been a circus, so could another underdog walk away with Lord Stanley?
