Angers took their first loss of the season over the weekend going down 4-1 against Nantes in front of their fans, but they are still flying high in the fourth spot and should look at Wednesday night as a great opportunity to prove their credentials.

The side from Western France has already taken one big scalp by beating Lyon 3-0 and another win against a top team would keep them believing that anything is possible this season.

Angers boasts one of the most exciting talents in European football in Mohamed-Ali Cho, who’s already a regular for the team as a 17-year-old.

A few weeks back, Cho became the first player born in 2004 or after to score in Ligue 1, and he’s started to log a lot of minutes after only being an impact sub in 2020-21.

The youngster has great pace and dribbling ability, which makes him a difficult player to stop on the wings, but the former PSG and Everton player can also play centrally. Marseille have to be ready for his movement and direct play.

The visitors are going for a fourth consecutive win on Wednesday. Jorge Sampaoli saw his team leak a lot of goals in the first couple of outings of the season, but things have improved a lot since then and the Argentinian has discovered his own promising attacking talent in recent weeks.

21-year-old Bamba Dieng logged just one minute of action during the team’s first three matches of the year, but he’s started the last two league fixtures and the Senegalese striker has quickly made a name for himself with three goals.

Dieng earned his chance with Arkadiusz Milik unable to help his team due to a knee injury. According to reports, the Polish forward is fit again for Wednesday’s match and it will be interesting to see if Sampaoli keeps his trust in Dieng or not. Leaving him on the bench could draw a lot of criticism if things don’t go OM’s way at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
