Inter scored with ease at the weekend picking apart Bologna on home turf 6-1. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring only six minutes into the game and Edin Dzeko came off the bench to finish things off with a brace.
The Nerazzurri were last nullified in the league on Jan. 23 when they found no way past Udinese in a goalless draw. The team has bagged a whopping 59 goals since then with 15 of them coming this season.
Romelu Lukaku has taken his talents to London, but Martinez and Dzeko have each already notched three goals and others have chipped in as well. Simone Inzaghi has yet to see his side score fewer than two goals in a game and the Fiorentina defense will surely be in for a challenging night.
With that said, Inter will also get a big test here with Fiorentina on a three-game winning streak and also looking sharp in attack. Led by Dusan Vlahovic, they have failed to get at least two goals just once.
The Serbian youngster had a breakout year in 2020-21 with 21 Serie A goals and he already sits near the top of the scoring charts this season as well with three markers in four games.
A number of big clubs were after the 21-year-old during the summer, but he decided to remain loyal to the Viola and it looks like the 21-year-old is about to take another nice step forward in his development.
The form of Vlahovic should give Fiorentina a decent chance of ending an 11-game winless streak in the matchup and a positive result against the title defenders would be a nice boost for a club that’s looking to fight for a European berth after playing out three mediocre seasons.
It promises to be an unpredictable clash between two sides who score goals for fun. It seems highly likely that Inter will match their 24-game scoring record set in 1950, but Fiorentina seem capable of outscoring them and they’ll have the home support pushing the team on.
