Simone Inzaghi Returns to Rome as Inter Visits Lazio

Simone Inzaghi will be back at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday as Inter Milan looks to continue their unbeaten start to the season against Lazio.

10Bet LogoInter reached a new club record in the last Serie A round by scoring two-plus goals for the 12th consecutive league outing and bookmaker 10Bet has the odds at 1.90 for them to extend the streak even further.

Inzaghi, who spent over 20 years at Lazio as a player and a coach, can expect a hostile reception after he walked out on the club in the summer. He wasn’t a big-name appointment by Inter, but things have worked out pretty well for them so far with the team having won five of nine matches across all competitions.

Inter have been much more offensive-minded under Inzaghi and they seem to be very confident in their ability to simply outscore any opposition. The defending champions have recorded 3.14 league goals per game this season and the red-hot offense makes them incredibly tough to beat.

Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martines have scored half of the team’s 22 goals, but the Nerazzurri also boasts 11 different goalscorers, which shows that the early season success has been a great team effort.

Lazio have a pretty good attacking record as well with 15 goals scorer, but Inzaghi’s successor Maurizio Sarri has failed to find a proper balance for the team and it’s resulted in a couple of really bad results. The Biancocelesti have won only once in their last five league outings and took a heavy 3-0 beating from Bologna in their last game.

The team is once again relying heavily on Ciro Immobile who’s been among the best goalscorers in Europe for the past few years. He’s notched six goals in the league this season while also handing out two assists. With Lazio’s defense currently very unreliable, Immobile has to remain sharp in front of the goal for the team to have a shot at victory on Saturday.

Lazio have remained unbeaten at home against Inter over the past couple of seasons, but the results, in general, are very close between the two sides. Both have picked up two wins from the last five meetings with one game – last season’s clash at the Olimpico – ending in a draw.
