Australia and Zealand will renew their Trans-Tasman rivalry in a three-match ODI series that starts on the 6th of September Down Under. The last time these two met was in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021 where Australia clinched the victory and won their first ever T20 World Cup. The Blackcaps will be looking for bragging rights in this series.
The series will be a part of the ICC World Cup Super League where the top 10 teams will qualify for the ICC World Cup in 2023 that will be played in India. Hence, both teams will look to further strengthen their case for the upcoming World Cup.
Australia has announced a full-strength squad led by Aaron Finch. The strength of Australia lies in their bowling lineup as their pace duo of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazelwood are hailed as one of the best in the world. Keeping an eye on the hectic schedule ahead, frontline pacer Pat Cummins has been rested for the series.
Their batting line-up doesn’t lack any experience as their top order consists of match winners like David Warner, Steve Smith, and Glenn Maxwell. Australia also has the talented all-rounder trio of Marcus Stoinis, Cameron Green, and Mitchell Marsh that provides their team balance and depth.

New Zealand will be led by Kane Williamson, who will be making a comeback to the side after sustaining an injury during the tour to West Indies. Speedster Matt Henry also makes a return to the ODI squad after missing two months due to injury. He is the highest wicket-taker for the Kiwis in ODIs played this year.
However, New Zealand still has several injury concerns as their premier leg spinner Ish Sodhi, talented all-rounder Kyle Jamieson, and fast bowler Adam Milne will miss the series. But New Zealand still has a strong and experienced squad who can challenge the Australians in their own backyard.
Australia have an upper hand over New Zealand in their head-to-head record in ODIs. Hence, Australia starts the series as the favourites. They are booked to win the 1st match of the series and are priced at 1.50 with bookmaker 888sport. New Zealand is the underdog, priced at 2.30. The possibility of a draw is priced at 56.00.
