Bookmaker 10bet has the odds at 2.05 for over 1.5 first-half goals, 4.25 for over 2.5 first-half goals and 10.50 for another spectacle with at least four goals in the opening 45 minutes.

There’s a great history of high-scoring games in the match-up with nine consecutive meetings having at least three goals. Frankfurt won the reserve fixture in December 5-2.

Eintracht were in superb form entering the winter, but they’ve had a tough time in 2022 and have their sights set elsewhere by now. Oliver Glasner’s men shocked Barcelona in the Europa League quarterfinals last month and will play for a spot in the final against West Ham on Thursday.

The team’s European commitments obviously mean that they shouldn’t be expected to be at their best here. Glasner is also set to field a weakened team which will suit Leverkusen well.

Bayer have enjoyed a nice campaign for most parts, but they have struggled for consistency in recent months and it’s left their top-four qualification up in the air. Bayern Munich have secured the championship title and Borussia Dortmund sit comfortably in second but there’s a fierce battle going on behind the two giants with five teams inside four points.

Leverkusen will hope that Patrik Schick can regain some of his scoring form to help lock up a Champions League berth. The Czech forward has notched 21 goals in 24 Bundesliga appearances this season, but he’s netted in just three of his last eight appearances.

Schick even had an incredible run of scoring eight straight Leverkusen goals in the Bundesliga early in the season and it’s clear that the team heavily relies on his goals. His role has become even more important after wonder-kid Florian Wirtz suffered a season-ending knee injury.

Leverkusen have scored the third-most goals in the league behind Bayern and Dortmund, but they have shot blanks in two of their last three games. Gerardo Seoane’s side badly needs to get the scoring going again if they want to hang on to their precious top-four spot.
