Juve used to dominate Italian football not long ago, but the team has taken a couple of huge steps backward in recent years and ended up 21 points behind Scudetto winners AC Milan last term. A poor start ruined pretty much the whole season and manager Massimiliano Allegri has to make sure that it won’t happen again.

The Old Lady has had a pretty exciting summer with Angel Di Maria joining the gang and Paul Pogba deciding to return to Turin. The addition of Filip Kostic should give the side some extra oomph as well.

Kostic has been one of the most creative players in the German Bundesliga in recent years and he also starred when Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League last season. He has a great eye for a pass and also pops up with a goal here and there.

The 29-year-old is set to link up with fellow Serb Dusan Vlahovic and we could see something really special from the duo in 2022-23.

Sassuolo recorded their first-ever road win against Juventus last season when Maxime Lopez found the net to make it 2-1 deep into stoppage time. It was a huge result for the club, although the season overall was probably a bit of a disappointment for Sassuolo after the team dropped to 11th in the table following a pair of top-eight finishes.

The new campaign starts for Sassuolo with quite a bit of uncertainty. Top scorer Gianluca Scamacca left for West Ham and it won’t be easy to fill his boots. Youngsters like Giacomo Raspadori will be asked to carry more responsibility and it remains to be seen how well they will cope with the situation.

Sassuolo have already suffered one blow at the start of the season when Modena dumped them out of the Italian Cup. Star man Domenico Berardi even ended up in an altercation with a supporter after the game and things clearly could be better at the club ahead of their season opener in the league.

The Neroverdi have been pesky opponents throughout the years and their chances on Monday will be boosted by Wojciech Szczesny’s absence through injury. With that said, it’s hard to see them winning again at Allianz Stadium. Juventus want to return to title contention and these type of games at home are simply must-win for them.
