It’s finally race week. The wait is over as we head over to the United States of America to Austin, Texas for the 19th round of the F1 championship. Will Sergio Perez shine now that Max has won the title? Or will we see another tight Ferrari-Mercedes battle for the 2nd place finish in the constructors championship? UK bookmaker William Hill has the latest odds!
※ Current Odds Date & Time: October 17th, 9:00 A.M. (EST)
With the championship race over and another tantalizing performance from, now a 2-time world champion, Max Verstappen, the odds as expected are priced at only 1.44 for the Dutchman. As is customary at this point, following close behind are Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez with the prices on them being 5.00 and 10.00 respectively.
Given his absolutely dominant performance at Suzuka two weeks ago, it would be safe to assume that Verstappen has his eyes on the prize at Austin as well. Will he let his teammate into the spotlight now that he’s won his 2nd title? Or will we see another max performance from Max Verstappen?
The Circuit
Circuit of the Americas is a relatively new circuit. This 5.513km long track features 2 DRS zones and 20 corners over the course of 56 laps. Famed for its on-track elevation straights and uphill battles, this circuit is something you definitely don’t want to miss.
The circuit itself was designed as to mimic the corners of Silverstone (Maggots/Becketts), Suzuka (S curves) and Hockenheim (stadium section). A combination that makes this track one of the most unique experiences in F1 nowadays and one of the most exciting tracks to watch races on.
What to Expect?
With the driver’s championship sealed, it’s all rainbows and sunshine for Max Verstappen and his Red Bull rocket from this point onwards. Red Bull only needs a 25 point advantage over Ferrari if they are to claim their constructors title at Austin as well. With their recent performance, both Sergio’s and Verstappen’s, it should be a walk in the park for Christian Horner and his team.
Perhaps the most exciting battle to watch out for however goes down to the midfield teams of McLaren and Alpine. Both teams eye the 4th place finish in the constructors championship and both teams have solid chances of finishing there. In the end, it all comes down to strategy and luck. We will simply have to wait and see how the situation unfolds.
Lastly, it is worth mentioning the two remaining seats that need filling are at HAAS and Williams Racing. With both teams yet to confirm their driver line-up for the 2023 season, this race has much at stake for both Mick Schumacher and his rivals outside F1. If Mick is to keep his F1 seat he will need a few more strong performances this year to convince the bosses he is their guy.
