ウィリアムヒルBoth boxers are undefeated across their careers, making for a tantalising prospect as one man will taste defeat for the first time. Looking at the outright odds ahead of this fight, it’s clear that Gervonta Davis is the overwhelming favourite to win. While on paper this may seem like a tight fight between two experienced, undefeated fighters, the reality is this is likely to be a one-sided affair for several reasons.

Firstly, Gervonta Davis is a three-division champion, having won belts in two other weight classes and currently holding the WBA Regular Lightweight title. Having debuted as a professional in 2013, Davis has systematically worked his way through every man that has stepped in the ring with him, rarely looking like losing. Secondly, Hector Luis Garcia, while a competent boxer in his own right as his 16-0-0 record indicates, is taking a huge step up here. This will be Garcia’s first fight at the lightweight level, having previously won the WBA Super Featherweight belt last year.

The step up, plus the general gulf in class means that a bet on Davis to win here is a safe option.

Current Odds Date & Time: January 5th, 12:30 P.M. (GMT)

Chances are, this fight will end with Garcia on the canvas. Taking Davis to win by knockout is the best bet to make here and offers slightly higher odds than an outright win.

Since his debut, only two men have ever stepped into the ring with Davis and stayed on their feet. Of the 27 fights he’s fought, 25 of these have ended in Davis knocking out his opposition. With this 93% knockout rate, Davis has distinguished himself as one of boxing’s most notorious knockout artists. It takes a very special fighter to go 12 rounds with Davis, and given that Garcia is making a huge step up to the lightweight division, it doesn’t feel like Garcia is the man to do this.

Where the real money is, is betting on when the knockout will occur. William Hill offers grouped round betting and the odds of a knockout in round 1-3 look attractive at 8.00. Since 2015, Davis has won by knockout in the first three rounds 40% of the time, making this an excellent bet.
