※ Current Odds Date & Time: January 7th, 8:00 A.M. (EST)
The team is made up of a South American roster that made some noise during last TI with three from Thunder Awaken, who were one game away from a top 4 finish, and two from beastcoast, who ended up in 7th-8th place after losing to the tournament’s heavy favorites in PSG.LGD.
Evil Geniuses has employed the services of Pakasz, who was arguably the best carry during his breakout TI run. Joining him from Thunder Awaken is the support duo of Matthew and Pandaboo. The two Peruvians have played together since 2020 in NoPing Esports and this is their fourth organization playing together. Meanwhile, long-time mid lane standout Chris Luck and offlaner Wisper will join from the other South American powerhouse. Chris Luck has been one of the most consistent mid laners from the region and has certainly proved his ability against the best in the world.
Another famous and experienced eSports organization has also entered South America with the arrival of Alliance. The organization bought Hokori’s roster. While the team did not have a great performance during their very brief TI stint, they got out of the South American Qualifiers to book their International tickets with some impressive victories over teams like PSG.LGD and Soniqs. They even swept Chinese powerhouse Royal Never Give Up.
K1 and Gojira aka Scofield have been in beastcoast since 2019, and this roster might be one of their better chances of making it big with the team. Thunder Awaken mid and offlane, Darkmago and Sacred, transferred to the squad after the rest of their teammates moved to the new Evil Geniuses roster. Finally, StingeR will round the roster out as the hard support after being inactive for quite some time.
Meanwhile, Thunder Awaken will be rebuilding their team after the departure of their most successful roster. The team has players from different teams to play for them. This will be a new project as no one from the previous roster will be returning. The team even brought in Knight who last played for the Eastern European team One Move during the final leg of last season’s circuit. A serviceable carry, Knight’s skills will be tested with his arrival in South America.
Will Evil Geniuses continue their winning ways? Or will another team secure their Major slot?
