Soul Sister the Pick of the Bunch at Longchamp ahead of Grand Prix de Paris

Many of Europe’s top 3-year-olds are descending on Longchamp for the Grand Prix de Paris under tomorrow’s Friday night lights.

The 1 mile 4 furlong Group 1 race on the turf has been an annual event since 1863 and is worth around €350,000 to the winner.

ウィリアムヒルHeading the field of eight runners in the betting is Soul Sister, currently a 2.10 chance with William Hill.

Current Odds Date & Time: July 13th, 7:00 P.M. (BST)

Kieran Shoemark will ride the filly for the first time; she most recently won the Oaks over the same distance at Epsom last month under Frankie Dettori and took a slightly shorter Group 3 at York in May.

That came after John & Thady Gosden tried her in a 7 furlong race at Newbury in which she came dead last of 12.

The leading local challenger is Pascal Bary’s Feed The Flame at 5.00, on whom Cristian Demuro takes the regular ride from Christophe Soumillon.

Fourth in the Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club six weeks ago, that was Feed The Flame’s first run away from Longchamp and first in a group race; his other two outings both ended in victory in April.

A three-time winner in the last five years, Aidan O’Brien’s leading entry is 5.50 shot Adelaide River.

Ryan Moore will take his third ride on the colt, the previous two both resulting in second-place finishes, including a group 3 at Longchamp last September. Last time out, under Seamie Heffernan, he finished second in the Irish Derby, improving on eighth in the English version a month earlier.

13-time winner of the race, Andre Fabre, is aiming for First Minister to be first past the post.

The 7.50 chance won the 1m3f Group 3 Prix Hocquart at this course last time out under the guidance of Bauyrzhan Murzabayev who rides tomorrow.

Rubis Vendome (11.00) is the great Italian hope for Andrea Atzeni and Mario Baratti. He warmed up perfectly taking the Group 3 Prix du Lys Longines at Chantilly over this distance last month and was second over course and distance in April.

That April day he was beaten by Alessandro & Giuseppe Botti’s Winter Pudding (34.00), who followed that up by coming last of 11 in the Prix du Jockey Club.

Tom Marquand rides O’Brien’s other entry, Peking Opera (26.00), who was seventh in the Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and then fourth in the Irish Derby.

Silawi (41.00) was second to Rubis Vendome at Chantilly and fifth to First Minister in the Prix Hocquart.
