There’s plenty of boxing action this weekend with the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans hosting seven bouts on Saturday night, the main event of which is Regis Prograis vs. Danielito Zorrilla. These two will fight it out for the WBC Super-Lightweight World Title, with Prograis the defending champion and Zorrilla the hopeful challenger.
In some ways, this is a one-sided fight that Prograis should win in a canter. He’s been at this level for years and fought on the big stage against world-class boxers countless times before. Zorrilla, on the other hand, is fighting for a world title for the first time and has never been up against a man of Prograis’ caliber before. However, this is boxing so expect a few twists and turns.
We break down all the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill and give our take on the best bets to make ahead of Prograis vs. Zorrilla this weekend.

Looking at the outright betting odds on Prograis vs. Zorrilla heading into this fight, the bookies are giving little chance to the challenger. Bookmaker William Hill has Regis Prograis at a low 1.07 to win outright, while Danielito Zorrilla sits at a long 8.00 to win.
The method of victory odds paint a clearer picture of how William Hill sees this fight unfolding. A knockout in favour of Prograis pays only 1.20, implying this is by far the most likely outcome. The champion winning on points is next at 5.50 with Zorrilla’s best odds being a knockout at 13.00.

Regis Prograis is the champion here for a reason and should win this fight comfortably. With a record of 28-1-0 with 24 knockouts, Prograis’ only loss came to Josh Taylor in 2019 where he lost his IBF, WBA and WBC belts to a majority decision.
Since then, however, Prograis has knocked out his last four opponents and gathered the WBC World Super-Lightweight belt along the way. It’s hard to see him not making it five from five knockouts against Zorrilla this Saturday given the gulf in class between these two.
There’s an argument to be made for Danielito Zorrilla coming out much harder than the bookies are expecting this weekend. Zorrilla also only has one loss to his name, but it seems a lack of activity and drive have been his biggest hindrances. He was a hot prospect when he first burst onto the scene but has since faded into the background. Now, with his big shot in front of him, Zorrilla could well have rekindled some of that flickering motivation and put on a big show.
We say that this will still go the way the bookmakers are predicting it, however. Zorrilla may come out hard but that will only serve to open him up for a knockout eventually. Expect Prograis’ class to be too much and for the American to win with a fifth round stoppage.
