It’s England’s answer to the Indian Premier League, and it’s here for four weeks of jam-packed action in August. With teams competing in a format that is almost T20 cricket, but not quite, the Hundred will see all the big names in English cricket, plus a few stars from abroad, playing in the third edition of this tournament.
The Trent Rockets defeated the Manchester Originals this time last year, and they’ll be eager to lift back to back titles in 2023. With the likes of Alex Hales and Joe Root leading their batting, plus Kiwi imports Colin Munro and Ish Sodhi, they’ll be well positioned to do so. But can the Manchester Originals, or perhaps the Southern Brave, spoil their ambitions? Both have put together power-packed lineups as well and will give the defending champions a fierce challenge over the coming weeks.
We break down the best bets to make ahead of the Hundred 2023 with the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill.

Looking at the outright betting odds from bookmaker William Hill, the Trent Rockets are rightfully leading the betting odds at 5.00 to win the Hundred 2023. Behind them, both the Southern Brave and Manchester Originals are level on 6.00 before the Birmingham Phoenix come in as fourth favourites paying 6.50. Only one team—the Welsh Fire—is seen as a long shot to win at 9.00, while the remaining three sides—the Oval Invincibles, London Spirit and Northern Superchargers—are all sitting on 7.50.
In terms of who’s going to get the runs over the next four weeks, English big-hitter Jos Buttler is favoured to top the charts at 9.00. Behind him, Devon Conway pays 11.00, alongside Will Smeed. Next, James Vince, Alex Hales and Dawid Malan are all tied on 13.00.

As far as the best bets to make on the Hundred 2023, we say that the Southern Brave is looking like an excellent wager this season. They are second favourites to win with a healthy 6.00 return and have some genuine firepower in their batting lineup, with James Vince, Devon Conway, Finn Allen and Tim David all fantastic shorter form players. Add in the pace of Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan, plus the guile of Mitchell Santner, and they make a formidable team.
Back the Brave to win outright off the back of a tournament-leading run scoring performance by Devon Conway or to make a final against defending champions the Trent Rockets for an even more generous return at 15.00. The Rockets will be stinging from the recent withdrawal of Rashid Khan on the tournament’s eve but nonetheless boast a powerful batting lineup that could well propel them deep into the Hundred 2023.
