This weekend sees the UFC head to Paris for the second year in a row, bringing a full card of 11 mixed martial arts fights. Headlining the event is home favourite Ciryl Gane, who takes on fellow heavyweight Serghei Spivac in what will be a fascinating contest.
Widely touted as an up and coming heavyweight, the trajectory of Gane has been slightly stunted after losses to Francis N’Gannou and Jon Jones in two of his three last fights. Lose here, and he’s suddenly not looking like the hot prospect that many expected. Spivac, on the other hand, is fighting the toughest opponent of his career by far, having already suffered three losses in the UFC.
In what feels like a do-or-die clash for both men, we break down all the latest betting odds from bookmaker bet365 and outline the best bets to make on UFC this weekend.

Looking at the outright betting odds, it’s clear that bookmaker bet365 has this fight as a close one in favour of the home favourite. Gane pays 1.57 to win outright, while Spivac sits at 2.50. In terms of how the bookies see this one going down, a Gane knockout or submission is the most likely scenario with odds of just 1.86, followed by a finish by Spivac, which pays 3.10. Neither man is rated very likely to go the distance, with odds of 7.00 and 8.00 in favour of Gane.

It’s hard to see Gane not winning this one in front of a packed out home crowd. Last time he was here, he scored a triumphant victory over Tai Tuivasa, so the pressure of a Parisian crowd is unlikely to get to him on Saturday evening. The reality is, he’s simply a better fighter than Spivac. Some might say that the Ukrainian has a better ground game, but we can expect Gane to come out much improved in this area following his wake up call against Jones.
The best bet we see ahead of UFC Paris is wagering on Gane to win by knockout or submission at 1.86. For those who are after a juicier return, back this to happen in the first round at odds of 4.25. The Frenchman scored some brutal first round finishes earlier in his career and will want to send a signal that he’s still an excellent fighter, despite losses to some of the divisions all-time greats recently.
