The bottom line is this match showcases two quite different fighters. While both women are equally determined and have built impressive records in their careers so far—Mayer 17-0-0 and Baumgardner 12-1-0—they have contrasting strengths.
For Mayer, she has claimed her super lightweight titles and remains undefeated because of her excellent skill-set. She has a high fight IQ, great footwork and is well-rounded in all aspects of boxing. This makes the 32-year-old incredibly hard to pin down and hurt and Mayer taking a big shot is a rare sight.
Baumgardner, on the other hand, has all the power. The 28-year-old consistently looks to pressure her opponents, driving them around until an opening appears where she can land her knockout blow. The American has won by knockout in 58% of her wins and this is exactly what she will look to do in this clash as well.
