Looking to improve on a second-placed finish twelve months ago, Anamoe once again goes into the W.S. Cox Plate as favourite.
William Hill have the 4-year-old as a 2.50 chance for the 1 mile 2 furlong contest at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
That will come as no surprise considering the Godolphin star comes into this winning his last three outings, all of which were Group 1s; the Winx Stakes and General George Main Stakes at Randwick and the Neds Might and Power at Caulfield two weeks ago.

Teaming up again with James McDonald for James Cummings’ yard, he will certainly take some beating.
And beating Anamoe is the task facing his eleven rivals, the lowest price of which is Zaaki at 5.50.
Never out of the top three in his last 15 races, the 7-year-old came third in the Neds Might and Power this month with Jamie Kah on board.
Kah and Zaaki have celebrated one win together from five attempts, in an ungraded race at Flemington, which was also the scene of his latest of three Group 1 victories eleven months ago.
Irish challenger El Bodegon is also a main contender according to William Hill at 6.50. Chris Waller’s 3-year-old has made the long journey to Australia after success in France and Britain, winning the Criterium de Saint-Cloud – a Group 1 for 2-year-olds – last year.
Third in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York last time, the step back down to 1m2f may prove beneficial. Damien Oliver takes the ride.
More accustomed to Australia and taking on the favourites are the likes of Alligator Blood who struggled with the step up in trip in the Neds, finishing fifth, having more success in the 1 mile Underwood Stakes at Sandown last month, in which the horse beat four of his rivals for tomorrow. Timothy Clark will be in the saddle hoping that the extra two furlongs won’t be an issue this time; he’s 19.00.
12.00 shot I’m Thunderstruck was second at Caulfield two weeks ago, but his moment of the winter came in the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington in beating Alligator Blood and Mo’unga.

English jockey Jamie Spencer rides Gold Trip (13.00), a 5-year-old with only one career victory, but with decent recent performances Down Under and in France, is a career-defining victory just around the corner?
15.00 chance Mr Brightside won a Group 2 at Moonee Valley in early September but fared less well in the recent Group 1s against many of tomorrow’s opponents.
Mo’unga is at 23.00 and it’s 29.00 bar.
