It’s the final day of the NFL regular season and the Dallas Cowboys find themselves on the outside looking in. While the Cowboys (7-8) play their home game against the Washington Redskins, the Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) square off against the New York Giants.
If the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs it will be disappointing for the franchise, to say the least. In the current primes of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and others, the Cowboys have failed expectations. What’s unfortunate for the Cowboys is that they don’t even hold their fate.

The Eagles’ contest against the Giants will be heavily watched in the Dallas area, but there is nothing the Cowboys can do. If the Giants manage to lose to the Eagles, Philadelphia will be on their way to the postseason. All the Cowboys can do is hope for a late Christmas miracle and see the Eagles fall while they defeat the Redskins.
Earlier this season, the Cowboys had no trouble defeating Washington. The same will need to happen this afternoon if the Cowboys want any shot at reaching the postseason. As for the Eagles and Giants, Philly was able to defeat the Giants in overtime just a couple of weeks ago. Can the Giants do a huge favor for the Cowboys and defeat the Eagles?
Could the end be near for Jason Garrett? Many insiders believe the head coach of Dallas will be kicked out the door if the Cowboys don’t have a long playoff run. Garrett is on the hot seat and today may be the biggest set of games in his career.
