Online bookmaker 18Bet has the Lightning at -111 on the Money Line.
Although the odds were slim of Steven Stamkos returning to the lineup full time, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced that Stamkos would be sidelined for the remainder of the postseason. There was hope he would return to action, similar to earlier in the series. However, the Lightning’s announcement makes it official that their Captain will not suit up for another game this season.
As for the Dallas Stars, two former rivals have found a new home in Texas and are making the most out of every opportunity. Joe Pavelski and Corey Perry were foes in California before joining Dallas. Now, they are two teammates that have been contributing heavily to the Stars’ offense.
Goals have been plentiful in this series, with no recorded shutouts to date. The lowest-scoring contest had 5 goals scored, with the most goals being scored in a single game is 9. For two teams that have had exceptional goaltending throughout the playoffs, both the Stars and Lightning have found the back of the net routinely.
The Lightning have had a reputation in recent years of not reaching their true potential. A victory tonight would lift the weight off the shoulders of long time Tampa Bay players. As for the Stars, their backs are against the wall again, but this is not unfamiliar territory for Dallas.
