If you want to find the Anaheim Ducks, you won’t find them near the top of the Pacific Division. The Ducks are in the basement of the Pacific and are the second-worst team in the Western Conference.
The Avalanche continues to rack up the wins and is doing so with an injured team. Important players to the roster like Mikko Rantanen, Nazem Kadri, Matt Calver, Philipp Grubauer and Cale Makar are all nursing injuries. It will be interesting to see how the Avs fare against the Ducks, a team known to throw their weight around.
As expected, the Ducks don’t have much firepower this season. Captain Ryan Getzlaf continues to be the heart and soul of this team. Getzlaf has tallied 27 assists and 40 points this season.
Pavel Francouz will get the start for Colorado tonight. The 29-year-old is standing tall during his first full season in the NHL. Francouz has a record of 19-5-3 this season with a 2.24GAA and .929SV%.
The Ducks will send Ryan Miller to the blue paint tonight. The backup to John Gibson, Miller has respectable numbers for a losing team like the Ducks. Miller is 7-6-3 with a 3.05GAA and .908SV%.
