There have been only two losses in the last 35 home derbies for Arsenal, but they haven’t beaten Spurs away from home since 2015, and the majority of recent derby games have taken place at Tottenham’s ground.

Tottenham have hosted the last two derbies, and after winning both, the Lilywhites can now put together a first three-game winning streak against Arsenal in the league since 1974. The recent success also gives Jose Mourinho the opportunity to become the first Spurs boss to win all of his first three derbies against Arsenal.

Mourinho has an outstanding career record against the Gunners suffering only two losses in 22 matches. Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has never beaten Mourinho in the Premier League as a player or manager in eight meetings. He could become the first Arsenal manager to lose his first three North London derbies.

Arsenal have overcome a tough stretch with three wins in four games across all competitions, but they still have a lot of work to do sitting 10th on the Premier League table. They are well off the pace in the top-six race and seven points adrift of Spurs, which gave Mourinho a perfect opportunity to have a dig at the Gunners.

“I look up, I don’t look down. If Arsenal was seven points ahead of us I would look to them but because we have seven points more than them, I don’t look down,” said Mourinho, whose side has racked up five straight wins across all competitions.

Tottenham had an awful run prior to their current winning streak with six losses in eight games, so it’s been a big turnaround and with Gareth Bale finally finding his place in the side and looking sharp, Mourinho’s men seem set for a strong finish to the season.

Bale has scored six goals in his last seven appearances, and he’s has been involved in six goals during his last four Premier League outings with four goals and two assists. He has recorded five Premier League goals against Arsenal, which marks his highest tally against any opposition in the competition.
