Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Who Will Take Victory in the Last Race of the Season? Could We See Hamilton’s Redemption or Perhaps a Red Bull Fallout?

ウィリアムヒルWe’ve come to the final race of the 2022 Formula 1 season. With round 22 taking us all the way back to Abu Dhabi and coincidentally the location of the biggest F1 controversy in modern day Formula 1. Will Lewis Hamilton redeem himself for the mishaps of 2021? Or will the falling out between the Red Bull duo intensify even more? UK bookmaker William Hill has the latest odds!

※ Current Odds Date & Time: November 14th, 5:00 P.M. (EST)

After a spectacular and a rather dramatic race in Brazil, hopes are high that Abu Dhabi can provide for a similar experience. With Mercedes’ resurrection at Sao Paulo, the oddsmakers have definitely prepared some rather surprising offers this time around.

Max Verstappen who was, up until this point, the absolute favourite to win the race has now risen to a price of 2.37. By his standards this is quite surprising taking into account his dominance throughout the season. In second place, confirming Mercedes’ return to the top, is Lewis Hamilton who is now priced at only 3.75 followed by George Russell at 4.00. This is a significant change to what we’re used to this season and may indicate Mercedes’ return to the top of Formula 1.

Lastly, we have the Ferrari duo, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, with odds on them priced even higher at 11.00 and 13.00 respectively. This may well be due to the fact that Ferrari are obviously struggling with strategy and tire management. Poor executive choices led to speculation of a new Team Principal being elected soon thus indicating the possible sacking of Mattia Binotto.

The Circuit

The Yas Marina Circuit lies on the Yas Island in Abu Dhabi making for a special and one of the most unique experiences on the F1 calendar. Construction of this spectacular track started all the way back in 2006 and ended in 2009 when the first ever Grand Prix was held at this track.

The circuit itself is a 5.281 km long track featuring 58 laps with 16 corners and 2 DRS zones. Last year’s race at this track proved to be a controversy unlike any other in modern day Formula 1 and is still one of the main talking points with fans and the media alike. We’re hoping this year we will witness a clean race without any unnecessary controversy spoiling the fun of F1.

What to Expect?

With Mercedes looking particularly strong in Brazil, hopes are high they can maintain this momentum going into Abu Dhabi. Even though Ferrari stood as the favourites for finishing 2nd in the Constructors championship, Mercedes now propelled themselves up to the front seriously challenging that assumption. How the battle for 2nd place unfolds remains to be seen, but be sure it will be the one you will not want to miss.

Lastly, we have the midfield battles for 4th and 6th spot in the Constructors championship. Alpine and McLaren have been going neck and neck since the very beginning of the season and even though it seemed as if McLaren had the upper hand, their advantage was completely diminished after a double DNF at the Brazilian GP.

For 6th place we have Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo battling it out with Aston Martin looking particularly strong on the straights. Who will win in these remaining match-ups remains to be seen so sit tight and enjoy the last race of the 2022 Formula 1 season!
