Brooklyn’s run has been fueled by their offensive efforts so it’s no surprise to see that the team is expected to have another game with 120-plus points. A side with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving won’t have scoring problems on most nights and it was only a matter of time before Brooklyn got its act together.

Following a horrible 2-6 start, the Nets have lost just six more games in 28 outings. The team chemistry has clicked and there have been some welcome additions from the sidelines with the likes of T.J. Warren and Ben Simmons shaking off the injury bug and being able to stay in the lineup on a consistent basis.

Durant and Irving have averaged a combined 56 points per game this season, and they aren’t all about scoring either with both posting solid assists numbers and putting in good work on the defensive end.

Looking at how things are going right now, Brooklyn should have a very good shot at setting a new record for the longest winning streak in franchise history. The team has previously reached 14-game runs twice, most recently in the 2005-06 season.

Atlanta has its own star duo with Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, but putting the two together in the off-season hasn’t yet produced the desired results. The Hawks are barely hanging on to a top-10 seed in the Eastern Conference and the recent form has been particularly disappointing as the club has produced on a 6-10 run over the last month.

The Hawks have outscored the Nets this season, averaging 114.6 points per game to Brooklyn’s 114.4, but their defense has been much worse and head coach Nate McMillan needs to find a way to tighten things up if the team is going to achieve its targets for the campaign.

Brooklyn’s second win on the current hot streak was a 120-116 victory over Atlanta, and in total, the Nets have now won four of the past five meetings between the two squads. It’s been a great run of results, and the team will be very disappointed if they can’t get another W on the board Wednesday night.
