Godolphin Stars Go Head-To-Head for Breeders’ Cup Turf Crown

Along with the Breeders’ Cup Mile, Godolphin are looking to repeat the success they had last year in the Breeders’ Cup Turf as they have both the first and second favourite for the US$4 million spectacle at Keeneland.

ウィリアムヒルLooking to follow in the hoofprints of Yibir by winning for Charlie Appleby with William Buick on board is Nations Pride, 3.25 with William Hill.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: October 26th, 8.30 P.M. (GMT)

The 3-year-old was a disappointing eighth in the Epsom Derby, but since then has had a lot more joy after moving to the USA; second in the Belmont Derby Invitational and wins in the equivalent races at Saratoga and Belmont at the Big A, proving 1 ½ miles isn’t too much for him.

Should Nations Pride falter on Saturday, Appleby and Godolphin have Rebel’s Romance waiting to step in and take glory. 5.00 with the bookies, he has won his last four races including the Grosser Preis von Baden and the Preis von Europa in Germany.

All four of those wins came over the same distance he will run this weekend, though he will be ridden by James Doyle, who is very much his usual second choice behind Buick.

5-year-old mare War Like Goddess will be entering this race rather than the Fillies and Mares Turf and with a record like hers it’s no wonder with seven graded winners including the Grade 1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic last month.

Joel Rosario will ride her for the fourth time and she’s at 5.50.

It’s well over a year since 7.00 shot Mishriff’s last win – the Juddmonte International at York – and he was well beaten in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in his last outing.

Frankie Dettori will ride him for the first time in over two years as John & Thady Gosden look to upturn his fortunes.

In the middle order we have AP O’Brien’s two runners; Stone Age (8.50) and Broome (13.00). Stone Age twice finished behind Nations Pride this season before finishing fifth in the Champion Stakes at Ascot three weeks ago while Broome’s best result in a Grade 1 this summer was fourth in the Sword Dancer Stakes at Saratoga.

After a long lay-off and a couple of prep races, Bye Bye Melvin (26.00) was a gallant second to War Like Goddess in the Joe Hirsch and will again be ridden by Fergal Lynch. John R. Velazquez will be looking for his first win in this race since 2015 aboard Highland Chief (23.00)

Red Knight is at 34.00 and four outsiders make up the field.
