Will it Be a Young Stud or a Veteran at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship?

bet365The PGA Tour visits Bermuda this weekend at the beautiful Port Royal Golf Course. With most of the top players taking the week off after the ZOZO Championship, this week is a great opportunity for lesser-known players to enter the door they have been knocking at. Who will rise above the field and take a win this weekend? Online bookmaker bet365 has the odds.

※ Current Odds Date & Time: October 26th, 7:00 A.M. (EST)

Largely thanks to his putting prowess, Denny McCarthy Is the favourite this week. Denny is not long off the tee by any means, but his short game and accuracy save him. At a course like Port Royal, which isn’t the longest test the players will face, Denny has a great chance at taking home his first career win.

McCarthy is no stranger to having good weeks, he finished within the top ten five times last season and made over US$2.8 million on course. Though the favourite, McCarthy’s odds still sit at 17.00, which is relatively solid value for an outright favourite.

Another player to look out for this weekend is Justin Lower. Lower is also an excellent putter and accurate player. He has been playing some solid golf as of late with a T4 finish at the Fortinet Championship.

Like McCarthy, Lower is a good course fit this weekend, but with his T4 at the Fortinet, he is surely riding a confidence high and is ready to take home his first win. At 29.00, it seems as though Lower is among the top value players this weekend and is undoubtably a player to consider.

This Week’s Long-shots

  • Nick Taylor to Win Outright at 41.00
  • Doug Ghim to Win Outright at 71.00
  • Nate Lashley To Finish Within the Top 5 at 21.00

Nick Taylor is an all-around solid player. He strikes the ball very well and is elite around the greens. The 34-year-old Canadian finished T6 at the Fortinet and T19 at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Unlike a lot of players in the field this week, Taylor has already secured two victories on the PGA tour and this experience will undoubtedly help him come Sunday if he is in the mix.

Doug Ghim shows flashes of brilliance every now and then. We saw this at the Players Championship when he finished T6 and was in the final pairing with none other than Justin Thomas. Ghim has been playing just okay as of late, but hopefully this week he will break through with a win.

Nate Lashley has a win on the PGA Tour and this experience will be invaluable this week. Though struggling lately, Lashley was once a solid player on the PGA Tour. This week he will look to lean on his experience and get back to his old form.

Tune in this weekend to see if it will be a first-time winner raise the trophy or if a veteran with experience will fend off the young and hungry rookies. Check out bet365 for additional Butterfield Bermuda Championship odds.
