Thomas Tuchel’s men will hope to pick up where they left off at the end of the group stage. They picked up 10 points from the final four group stage outings scoring 12 goals in the process.

Chelsea’s attacking record has been mediocre in 2022 so getting a comfortable victory here would be a nice boost for the team’s confidence ahead of Sunday’s League Cup final against Liverpool.

To get the goals flowing again, Chelsea will surely have to find a way to get Romelu Lukaku more involved in the offense. The big Belgian had just seven touches in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace setting a new Premier League record for the fewest touches from a player who has played the whole 90 minutes since Opta started to track the stat in 2003-04.

Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge got off to a big start with four goals in his first four appearances, but he’s managed to add just six more goals to his tally and is looking like a foreign object on the team whenever he’s on the pitch.

Chelsea have just been crowned the Club World Cup winners, but it will be very hard for them to add anything else to the trophy cabinet from this season if their £97.5 million striker doesn’t have any effect on games.

Lille also had a strong finish to the group stage and head to London on a three-game winning streak in the Champions League. European action should be a welcome distraction for a team that sits just 11th in Ligue 1.

Les Dogues are the defending French champions, but they lost a lot of quality from the team over the summer and first-year boss Jocelyn Gourvennec has found himself in a tricky situation.

The team has under-performed this season but there has been one exception in Jonathan David. The 22-year-old is among the top scorers in Ligue 1 with 12 goals and he’s also notched three goals in Europe.

The Canadian international has proven himself as a very good finisher and Lille might be able to shock the Stamford Bridge crowd if they create enough chances for David.
