Streaking Juventus Hosts Second Turin Derby of the Season

Juventus have put together an 11-game unbeaten streak in Serie A and will look for further success on Friday against city rivals Torino.

10Bet Logo have recorded seven clean sheets during their hot streak and bookmaker 10bet has the odds at 2.10 for the Old Lady to shut out the opposition again. The odds are at 5.50 for Torino to keep a clean sheet.

The 36-time Italian champions were very slow out of the gate, but the team slowly started to build momentum and now even have an outside chance of entering the title race. They are seven points off the top three who are separated by just a couple of points.

Getting another win on the board would add some more pressure on the top sides and considering Juve’s recent form and their success against their neighbors, a home win looks very likely here.

Torino haven’t beaten Juventus since 2015 and the Bianconeri are riding a 15-game unbeaten streak in the match-up. They won this season’s first meeting 1-0 via a late Manuel Locatelli goal.

Having lost Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer, Juventus aren’t scoring as many goals as the sides in front of them, but they are among the top defensive teams in the league and it’s helped them to steadily improve their league position.

Juve’s recent defensive efforts have been particularly impressive as Giorgio Chellini has struggled to stay fit. The team captain last played in three consecutive league games in October and he’s also set to miss Friday’s derby.

Torino are also among the top defensive sides in the league and have conceded just three goals more than Juventus, but the team’s scoring efforts have been poor for most of the season. There have been only six matches in which Toro have managed to score more than once.

Getting goals isn’t easy either in a situation where your best attacking player isn’t in the lineup. Andrea Belotti has featured in just 10 of the team’s 24 matches and the Italian international has logged fewer than 500 minutes of action.

Belotti returned from yet another injury layoff last week in a 2-1 loss to Venezia. He played only 19 minutes, so it looks like the Torino captain is still some way off of being 100 percent in shape.

With just a few months remaining on his contract, it looks like Belotti is playing in his final games for Torino. Helping the team end a seven-year win-less streak in the derby would be a pretty special way to make an exit.
