Manchester City Looks to Win First Champions League Title in Istanbul Versus Inter Milan

Manchester City is on the brink of history and will look to cap off their 2022-23 campaign with the first-ever Champions League win in club history. Only Inter Milan stands in their way hoping to cause a big upset in Istanbul Saturday.

ウィリアムヒルBookmaker William Hill is offering very little hope for the Nerazzurri with the odds at 4.33 for Inter to triumph Saturday night. The odds are at 6.50 for Inter to win in 90 minutes. Meanwhile, the odds are at 1.44 for Man City to do the business in normal time and at 1.20 for them to lift the trophy.

In addition to a historic first Champions League crown, a winning performance would also make City only the second English team ever to complete the Treble in a season. Pep Guardiola’s men struggled for consistency pre-World Cup, but City has been machine-like over the final few months of the season, failing to win only four of their last 23 games.

Inter will face a side that has been suffocating teams with their defense as of late and that’s also full of goals. Erling Haaland has grabbed the most attention this season with his 52-goal effort during his debut campaign in England, but the team as a whole has a spectacular scoring record as well. City reached 150 goals across all competitions this season in last week’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Manchester United.

Inter had their own cup triumph two weeks ago against Fiorentina and manager Simone Inzaghi has built himself somewhat of a reputation as a very good manager in cup competitions. He has now won the Coppa Italia three times as manager across the last five seasons. Inter’s European success this season has also boosted his stock. Can Inzaghi now prove his worth again and lead his troops to victory Saturday?

Inzaghi’s side can also be tough to break down, which is evident by the fact that Inter has recorded five clean sheets in six knockout stage outings this season in the Champions League. Keeping Haaland & Co. at bay will be a massive step toward victory in the big game. But can Inter also find the quality to produce a match-winning moment?

Lautaro Martinez has been very prolific throughout the spring and will be City’s biggest threat on Saturday. He’s had a career year with 28 goals across all competitions and 11 of the strikes have come in his past 13 appearances. It will be tough for Inter to create chances as they are not expected to see the ball a lot and Martinez has to be ruthless with the opportunities he gets.
