The Three Lions are looking for revenge for the defeat suffered in last year’s final, and they are also hoping to get back to winning ways after being a bit rusty in their first couple of Nations League outings.

England suffered a shock defeat in their opener against Hungary and couldn’t get more than a 1-1 draw against Germany on Tuesday. The team is now in danger of going win-less in three consecutive games for the first time since 2018.

Harry Kane has just become only the second player in history to hit 50 goals for England and he will look to keep moving towards Wayne Rooney’s record of 53 goals.

Italy’s defensive record has been pretty poor after the Euros and Kane should get plenty of chances with the match being played at the Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton.

The Italians head into the clash with four points on the board. They opened proceedings with a 1-1 draw against Germany and then beat Hungary 2-1.

Lorenzo Pellegrini scored in both of the games and will hope to lead his side once more on Saturday. The Roma captain had a very good club season with nine goals and five assists in Serie A and it looks like he has carried his form onto the international stage as well.

The Azzurri have enjoyed a decent start, but they are now five games without a clean sheet and Roberto Mancini’s men definitely have to improve defensively if they want to start winning regularly again.

Italy had their historic streak of unbeaten games end at 37 with a loss to Spain back in October and it seems to have been a huge blow to the team’s confidence because the following eight outings have brought them just three victories. There’s also been only one clean sheet during the run.

Mancini will want to see his side regain momentum in the Nations League and there’s a chance to pick up a number of huge results on the bounce as the European champions meet Germany again on June 14 and start the next cycle of games with another match-up against England.
