Will Denmark’s Fairytale at the Euros Continue?

After losing their first two outings at the EURO 2020, Denmark have completely turned things around and they now get a chance to clinch a semifinals spot against the Czech Republic.

10Bet LogoDenmark have exploded offensively in recent games with eight goals scored in two matches and bookmaker 10Bet has the odds at 2.30 for them to net at least twice against the Czechs.

Denmark, of course, also lost Christian Eriksen at the start of the tournament and it looked like their run in the competition was over with the first half against Finland in the opening game, but the team has shown great character to bounce back and get going again.

Mikkel Damsgaard has taken over Eriksen’s spot in the starting lineup and the Sampdoria man has impressed with a goal and an assist through three games. His total tally for the side stands at three goals and four assists that he has notched in just six games.

Losing Eriksen was a massive blow, but it has given others a chance to shine and Damsgaard has grabbed his opportunity with both hands. He’ll surely sign for a big European club soon if he manages to keep up his form.

Manager Kasper Hjulmand no doubt deserves the biggest plaudits for pulling the team together and installing a fearless attitude. He’s had a very successful first 12 months in charge of the team with 11 wins and only four losses in 17 matches.

Hjulmand is now tasked with masterminding a rare victory over the Czechs. The Danes have triumphed just four times against the Czech Republic/Czechoslovakia in 26 meetings.

First up, Denmark have to figure out how to stop Patrik Schick. The Leverkusen forward has been among the tournament’s top scorers with four goals and he’s done an immense job in general as a lone striker. The Czechs have scored just five goals in total at the tournament, so it’s safe to say they wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without Schick’s sharp goal-scoring form.

Schick should draw a lot of attention here that will open up space for his teammates. Tomas Soucek’s big moment has yet to come at the tournament and he could play a key role against Denmark. The Czech Republic will certainly need a big offensive performance as the Danes have finished goalless just once in their last 15 outings.
