Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has downplayed the talks of the clash being a title decider for the season but whoever comes out on top will surely be heavily favored to take the crown. City can open up a four-point gap at the top of the table and Liverpool have a chance to take over the lead by a couple of points.

The fixtures list for the rest of the season is tougher for Liverpool and this should make the three points more important for them on Sunday. It’s a very tough match-up, but having failed to win just three times in 2022, Liverpool’s confidence should be sky-high.

The Reds have just set a new club record with eight consecutive road wins across all competitions and they will now try to win a league meeting at the Etihad for the first time since 2015. These two are very evenly matched but City have dominated the head-to-head clashes in recent years.

Pep Guardiola’s men are unbeaten in four straight games against Liverpool playing out two draws and picking up two big wins. The first meeting of this season ended 2-2 after City managed to come from behind twice.

Mohamed Salah scored in a third straight outing in the match-up back in October and all the eyes will be on him again on Sunday. It’s been a phenomenal season for the Egyptian with 28 goals and 10 assists across all competitions, but he now needs to deliver when it matters the most.

This match-up has also suited very well for Phil Foden who has scored in each of his three Premier League appearances against Liverpool.

Foden has looked very sharp in the last couple of games and needed just two minutes of action off the bench Tuesday to set up Kevin De Bruyne for a vital goal in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

At 21, Foden is already a three-time Premier League champion and he will put himself in a very good position to grab his fourth winner’s medal this spring if he can help his squad to victory on Sunday.
