Next Generation ATP Finals 2023 | Frenchmen Headline in Jeddah

Tennis fans will be treated to a glimpse of the future this week in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, as the best eight up and coming tennis stars compete for the Next Generation ATP Finals 2023 title. With the top 21-and-under players from the ATP Tour qualifying, plus plenty of exciting innovations being tested out in what is technically an exhibition tournament, there’s a lot to look forward to.

Arthur Fils heads to Jeddah as the man with a target on his back being the highest ranked and most accomplished player at the Next Gen Finals. However, the world No. 36 will have some hot competition from compatriot Luca van Assche and big-hitting Swiss player Dominic Stricker. Can Fils live up to expectation this week, or will we see another star emerge in Saudi Arabia?

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill and outline the best bets to make on the Next Generation ATP Finals 2023.

Current Odds Date & Time: November 27th, 4:00 P.M. (GMT)

Bookmaker William Hill has two clear favourites to win the Next Gen Finals this week, with Arthur Fils slightly ahead of Dominic Stricker priced at 3.75 compared to 4.50. These two are well ahead of the rest of the pack, with four others sitting between 7.00 and 8.00, as Luca van Assche, Alex Michelsen, Hamad Medjedovic and Luca Nardi are all considered moderate chances. Both Flavio Cobolli and wildcard Abdullah Shelbayh are much longer shots to win, with odds greater than 11.00.

Frenchman Fils is favoured in the bookies’ odds for good reason. Ranking-wise, he’s head and shoulders above the rest of the field, as the only player close to the world’s top 30. He’s coming to Jeddah off the back of some mixed form—back-to-back losses in Paris and Vienna, but an Antwerp finals run prior to that—and has wins over Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Tallon Griekspoor this season.

As something of a senior statesman of this Next Gen bunch, having been on Tour since 2021, expect Fils to handle the pressure well and rise to the occasion.

For those wanting a little bang for their buck in terms of outright betting, wagering on American Alex Michelsen would be our next best bet. Michelsen burst onto the scene with an exciting run to the Newport final earlier this year as an 18-year-old, falling painfully short against Adrian Mannarino. However, the teen is playing his best tennis again this month, having made back-to-back Challenger finals in the past fortnight.

With a return of 7.00 for the American to win this week, seeing Michelsen continue this form—particularly in a group where he avoids both Fils and Stricker—would be entirely possible.
