Juve got off to a shaky start but has improved throughout the campaign and will host Inter sitting just two points behind them and holding a five-game winning streak. The run includes four clean sheets, with Cagliari’s Alberto Dossena being the only man to get a goal against Juventus during the hot streak. It’s also the lone goal Juventus has conceded across its last seven league outings.

The defensive work from the Old Lady has been very impressive, but Inter has done even better. The Nerazzuri have been outstanding at both ends in Serie A this season, scoring the most goals (29) and conceding the fewest (6). Four of the goals came in meetings with Sassuolo and Bologna, meaning Inter has conceded just twice in its other 10 matches.

Considering how well both teams have done at the back, Juventus and Inter could easily end up canceling each other out on Sunday. The previous head-to-head clashes have also been tight affairs, with the teams only combining for three goals in two league meetings last season. Additionally, the two had a two-legged cup semi-final in 2022-23 with only three goals in the matches.

If anybody’s going to pop up with a winning goal at the Allianz Stadium, it will most likely be Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine forward has been in red-hot form throughout the season, topping the Serie A scoring charts with 12 goals. No other player has totaled more than seven goals.

Massimiliano Allegri will hope to see Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa rekindle some magic for the hosts. The duo had a very good start to the season, but neither player has been in top form lately after both hit some injury issues. Vlahovic has incredibly found the back of the net just twice in 11 career appearances against Inter.

Inter snuck past Juventus in the cup tie last season, but the story has been very different in league matches. Juve has lost only two of the last 13 Italian derbies in Serie A, winning each of the last two. It’s been 11 years since either side strung together three straight league victories in the match-up.
