After ten and a half months, the PGA Tour is one event shy of entering its post-season. Just the Wyndham Championship 2023 remains in the regular season and the stakes couldn’t be higher in North Carolina this year.
With the FedEx Cup playoffs being reduced from the top 125 players of the season down to only the top 70, the scramble is on this week to make the cut. Both rookies and veterans will be eager not to miss out, making the following four days of golfing action at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro a fascinating watch. Can Justin Thomas rectify his season? Or will Hideki Matsuyama get his first title of the year?
We break down all the latest PGA Tour odds with bookmaker William Hill and outline the best bets to make ahead of the first ball this Thursday.

An initial glance at the outright betting odds from bookmaker William Hill shows one thing—this tournament is up for grabs. With the top betting favourites paying long odds of 19.00, nothing is for sure at the Wyndham Championship this year. Leading the pack are Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im as joint favourites for the title, followed by Si Woo Kim and Russell Henley at 21.00. Rounding out the top five favourites is Sam Burns on 23.00.
When it comes to the odds for finishing in the top five, there’s a four-way tie for the favourite, with Im, Matsuyama, Kim and Henley all paying 5.50. Burns is slightly off the pace, with a return of 6.00.

In terms of the best bets to make this week, there are some great options to choose between. We say that Si Woo Kim is the strongest candidate to win the Wyndham Championship, having done so in 2016. However, considering the healthy competition, perhaps it’s safer to back to 28-year-old to make the top five instead. He’s done so three times since winning the title, and it still brings a generous payout of 5.50.
Another option excellent betting option is Russell Henley, who came painstakingly close to winning the title here two years ago. Fluffing a three-stroke lead heading into the final round in 2021, Henley will feel like he has unfinished business here in Greensboro. The 34-year-old already has one title this season and finished T4 at the Masters Tournament. However, his consistency is a concern, with the American missing the cut six times in the past year as well.
