Valero Texas Open 2023 | PGA Tour Golf Sees Last Stop Before Masters

In many ways, this week is the calm before the storm in the golf world. This time next week, the best of the best will be teeing off in the first Masters of the year, vying to etch their names in golfing history. But for now, one final stop remains on the PGA Tour with four days of action to go down at the Valero Texas Open 2023.

While plenty of big names are missing from the Valero Texas Open 2023 with the likes of Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler opting to take this week off, there’s still some great betting action to be had. Tyrrell Hatton will be eager to nab a confidence-building victory ahead of the Masters next week, while J.J. Spaun comes into this tournament as the defending champion, looking for a repeat of last year.

ウィリアムヒルWe break down all the best bets to make on the Valero Texas Open this week with the latest odds from bookmaker William Hill.

Current Odds Date & Time: March 30th, 12:30 A.M. (GMT)

Looking at the outright winner odds from bookmaker William Hill, it’s clear that Tyrrell Hatton sits head and shoulders above the rest of the competition. The Englishman is the highest ranked player in this tournament, which is reflected by his odds of 13.00 to win over the weekend. Next is former amateur World No. 1 Rickie Fowler, who pays 19.00 for a win. Just behind Fowler are favourites Si Woo Kim, Corey Connors and Hideki Matsuyama who sit between 21.00 and 23.00 in the bookies’ odds.

While the top five favourites in the bookies odds make a strong case for bets, there are also some appealing contenders lower down in the betting odds too. Take England’s Matt Wallace, who is paying 46.00 for a win at the Valero Texas Open 2023. Wallace is coming into this tournament full of confidence, having just won the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship last weekend. The 32-year-old has been playing some excellent golf the past six months and will secure an invitation to the Masters if he wins again here this weekend.

Given that three of the past four winners here in Texas have been rank underdogs heading into the tournament, we say it’s worth taking a punt on Wallace to win here. Do so, and you’ll be laughing all the way to the bank with odds of 46.00

Current Odds Date & Time: March 30th, 12:30 A.M. (GMT)

Another good bet here is backing one of the top five favourites, Hideki Matsuyama, to make at least the top ten. It’s a conservative wager, but still has a return of 3.60. Matsuyama placed 5th in his most recent start at the PLAYERS Championship in early March. Add this to a top ten finish at the Farmers Insurance Open in January and the Japanese golfer is looking like a strong bet to take in this field.
