The PGA Tour will be heading to the TPC Twin Cities course in Blaine, Minnesota as they host the 2023 3M Open. With the four Major Championships completed for this season, the attention will now turn to the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the players looking to make a push for a top 70 ranking in order to secure a postseason invite.
This weekend has 11 of the Top 50 golfers and with 500 FedEx points on the line, there will be plenty of motivated players. Tony Finau is the reigning champion looking to defend his title and holds the highest place in World Rankings at No. 16. Cameron Young (No. 18), Justin Thomas (No. 20), and Sungjae Im (No. 23) are excellent golfers in the Top 25 making this a fascinating tournament to watch. Can Tony Finau win back to back 3M open titles? We look at bookmaker William Hill to break down the odds of the rest of the field and determine what the best bets are ahead of this tournament.
※ Current Odds Date & Time: July 5th, 12:30 P.M. (GMT)
The current favorites for outright tournament winner are Cameron Young and Tony Finau tied up top at 13.00 with Sungjae Im holding the third best odds at 15.00. Hideki Matsuyama is next at 17.00 with Justin Thomas rounding out the top five oddsmaker favorites at 19.00.
Coming in with a slightly higher payday is Sepp Straka who placed T2 at last weeks Open Championship. Last week’s Major championship winner was a heavy underdog, so let’s expand our view past the favorites to help find our 3M Open best bets.
Taylor Pendrith is a golfer that has grown better as the summer goes, and with two top 15 finishes in the last three tournaments, he looks to be following the same pattern this year. With his current odds at 61.00, you won’t have to invest much for this to pay well. Continuing with the theme of longer shots that have good recent form, Cameron Champ, who is coming off of a top 17 finish last weekend, won this tournament in 2021 and makes a strong case for his odds at 67.00.
Sepp Straka has been playing great golf recently, despite not being a household name. Riding the momentum of another confidence-building performance of T2 last week, there’s a decent chance Straka can bring home the silverware this week. We’d also recommend adding in a bet on Sungjae Im, who has a very consistent game, putting him in great positions to compete on Sundays when it matters most. This pick gives you another favorite to balance your bets at 15.00, providing more security.
