PSG have yet to beat Man City in three meetings playing out two draws and losing the most recent matchup 1-0 in 2016. It’s their 12th home match against an English side and their record has been pretty mediocre so far with four wins, four draws and three losses.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men impressed in the last round by knocking out Bayern Munich, but the team has had plenty of struggles under the Argentinian and needs a top-notch performance here to get a result. Not to mention the need of getting Kylian Mbappe fit for the match.

PSG’s leading scorer exited Saturday’s 3-1 win over Metz with a thigh injury and is questionable for the game although Pochettino sounded pretty positive over his status.

“We think he’s okay and that he’ll be ready for Wednesday,” said Pochettino, who has won 19 and lost five of 26 matches in charge of the Parisians since arriving at the club in January.

Mbappe and Neymar are expected to play a key role in the matchup. PSG needs them to be at their absolute best to break down a defense, which has looked like a brick wall for most of the season.

City won their fourth consecutive League Cup over the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Tottenham recording their 29th clean sheet in 53 matches across all competitions this season. The team has posted seven clean sheets in 10 Champions League outings.

Guardiola had his dream of a quadruple broken by Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals, but there’s still a chance to win a treble as the team holds a comfortable lead in the Premier League.

With Manchester United 10 points off the pace, City should have the opportunity to focus fully on their European campaign. It’s only their second-ever appearance in the Champions League semi-finals, so there’s been plenty of disappointment in Europe over the past 10 years and Guardiola and his team should be very eager to set things right.
