The Los Angeles Dodgers (+285) are the clear favorites to win the World Series per online bookmaker BetOnline. They led the Majors in runs scored, runs and hits allowed per game, and ERA during the regular season. Their pitching staff is the most dominant in baseball, and their batting lineup is second to none led by Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Trea Turner. Oh, and they also eclipsed the franchise record in wins with 111. They will look to avenge their loss in the NLCS last season at the hand of the defending champion Atlanta Braves.

The Houston Astros (+425) are the favorites in the American League to win the World Series. They have the best pitching staff in the American League and are second overall behind the Dodgers. They have Cy Young candidates Justin Verlander and Framber Valdez leading the way in tandem with their core of Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, and Alex Bregman. They definitely have the experience required to go deep in the playoffs. Although they started the season slow, the Astros really finished the campaign strong and should be a strong contender in the AL.

The Braves are a close third as they open the playoffs at +450. The reigning defending World Series champions still have a young, hungry team ready to defend their crown. The addition of Matt Olson to replace Freddie Freeman worked out well for them with Olson driving in 103 RBIs for the season. Other hitters such as Austin Riley, Ronald Acuna, and Dansby Swanson will look to carry their regular-season success to the playoffs. Their pitching rotation and bullpen is also one of the best in baseball and they have young and talented pitchers as well.

They proved to have what it takes to battle adversity as they were sitting 10.5 games back from the NL East top spot on June 1st. They still won the division over the Mets by sweeping their late-season series.

The fourth team is the New York Yankees who open at +525. The AL single-season record home run holder Aaron Judge is looking to continue his immense success in the playoffs. They are a top 5 team in all major pitching categories such as ERA, WHIP, and hits allowed per game. They also had the most home runs in the regular season, so look for the Bronx Bombers to keep smashing home runs in the postseason.

The other New York team, the Mets, are the fifth favorite to win the championship as they open at +850. Despite losing the NL East pennant to the Braves, the Mets still won 101 games this season. They know how to get on base as they possess the second best batting average and on-base percentage in the MLB. They also have a dominating duo of starting pitchers in Max Scherzer and Jacob DeGrom that can take them far into the playoffs. Lastly, they have the electric Edwin Diaz at closer, who recorded 32 saves in the regular-season, which will come handy in close games.
