The Orlando Magic (13-5) have been one of the surprise packages of the 2023-24 NBA season and will have a chance to make history on Friday versus the Washington Wizards (3-15) with a ninth consecutive win.
The Magic can match their best-ever winning streak on Friday and are fully expected to do it, with bookmaker BetOnline considering the home team an 11-point favorite. The odds are at -110 for Orlando to beat the spread, while you can back Washington to cover the line with the same odds. The total for the game stands at 237 points.

Orlando already showed very good potential last season by winning the regular-season series against Boston and splitting two games with the Denver Nuggets, who ended up winning the championship, and Jamahl Mosley’s squad has taken a further step forward in the new campaign.
The Magic have been one of the best defensive teams in the league, and their offense has also started to sizzle, with the team having produced 130-plus points in back-to-back games. They have already beaten the Wizards once this week, as Franz Wagner led the way with a season-high 31 points Wednesday in a 139-120 triumph.
The run of victories started two weeks ago with back-to-back wins over Chicago, and it includes fresh wins over Boston and Denver, two elite teams in the league. The early signs suggest that 2024 could be a very special year for the Magic, who last won nine consecutive games in 2010-11. In total, the club has had three such runs.
Meanwhile, Washington hasn’t even won four games over the course of the season. Following the Bradley Beal trade, the team has gone fully into rebuild mode, and it looks like the next few years could turn out to be very long for the Wizards fans. The team has very little talent, and the lack of form of some players is hurting Washington badly.
Jordan Poole was supposed to transcend into a superstar in D.C. but has looked horrible through the first month of action. He has gone from a 20-point scorer to a guy who averages 17 points and needs over 15 shots a night to get there. The former Warrior has been limited to 39.8 percent shooting and hasn’t even made 30 percent of his attempts from downtown. The Wizards will need a lot more from Poole if they want to ruin Orlando’s winning run on Friday.
